Wet Dreams

Wednesday was a beautiful day here in New Hampshire with the cool Fall air starting to set in. Hazy fog blanketed the area in the early morning hours.... Once the sun started peaking through the cloud cover, one couldn't have asked for a nicer Fall day.

It's been years since I boarded a boat.... I must admit, I was a little nervous, but was in safe hands and willing to go on a little adventure. When I told my sister I was going on a boat, she chuckled reflecting back to some of our childhood memories. Dad's adventurous and daring boat rides, instilled the fear of "hell" in me.... Needless to say, I was a little hesitant. My last experience was on a cruise ship several years ago. But? I was up for a challenge.... Let's see if I can pull this off and get back to shore with no "boat ride" nightmares....

I was up and out the door early in the morning and off to the Keene area to spend the day on the water. The day went off without a "hitch." We boarded the boat.... My friend's boat called, non other than, "Wet Dreams".... An appropriate name for a man's toy.... I think the name speaks for itself and the man, himself, who happens to be one of my best friends and a real sweet guy. I kinda "himmed" and "hawed" about going, but what ta heck.... I'm SO glad I did.

I had an absolutely beautiful day. Peaceful and refreshing.... Just a few sparse clouds.... The water, a pretty royal blue with a "tinge" of coldness to it.... the leaves around the lake just starting to change color.... Kyackers and other boaters scattered about.... A "picture perfect" moment....

One thing I always enjoyed about being on a boat (was and is) watching the waves from the boat off the back end.... They roll from the motor in a "v" shape form unfolding in white crests.... those waves that I used to love to ski on.... that other boater's ride upon.... that we waited for as children, just so we could swim them....

We rode around the water's edge.... The history and building of the lake known to those residing on it's shores and nearby.... known well to the community.... A man made lake with an Indian heritage....

We anchored down in a small cove, one of Jeff's favorite spots, and kicked back for a few hours of sunshine; some friendly conversation and skinny dippin'? Nothing like a wet naked man with long blond hair.... "He" said the water was nice! I believed him.[Image: banana.gif] We could hear loons echo over the water.... a slight breeze to keep the warmth from the sun comfortable.... a relaxing kinda day....

About 3:30, we pulled up anchors and were off to shore. The day ended with a quick barbecue; a walk around his "Bailey Brook" cottage.... A red rustic cottage that sets back in the woods surrounded in nature's beauty and his own handiwork.... One can hear water from a small brook running through the front yard.... It is God's country; and, makes for all the fixings of a "Better Homes and Garden's" moment.... The moments of "his" life built into private memories of his own handiwork....
