I was really impressed with how much movement the jacket can have with a high arm hole. I hear that JCrew has some and you can tell indochino to make them for you as well. What do you think of the higher arm hole suit jackets?

James Cagney is roughly my height as well so that type of suit might look good on me too.

Once I got one I donated all my others. Wearing a suit went from something I did when necessary to something I enjoy.

As for off-the-rack suits, people say good things about jecrew, BR's modern blazer, and suitsupply. If you're into made-to-measure like indochina, consider thick as thieves as well.

If you're going to try, go all the way. There is no other feeling like that. You will be alone with the gods, and the nights will flame with fire. You will ride life straight to perfect laughter. It's the only good fight there is.

It's a detail that only clothes horses notice.

Avg people don't notice.
Chicks don't notice, especially hot ones.
Hiring managers don't notice.
Rich people don't notice.
Fashion people don't notice.

There's no external benefit to the smaller details, ime.

There's plenty of internal benefit though.

If you're rocking high arm holes, or a custom Bemberg lining, bespoke shoes, a $170 pocket square - you're doing that for yourself, cause even if most people don't have a clue, you do, and how you feel about yourself is what matters.

I have a couple thick as thieves suits, but be warned, the arm holes aren't that high...they are a great value for the $$ and retro cut if that's your thing!

Its a detail that I notice, and that's why I thought it was important. I hate how jackets bunch up around the shoulder area and pull up the torso as well if you lift your arm up. Does it cut into the armpit?

Elaborate. What is the advantage of this?

I have canali pants (albeit from fashion district aka high-end frauds in LA). The rayon fabric lining inside the pants feels butter-smooth.

Is that the difference?

http://www.styleforum.net/t/4195/suit-li...emberg-etc

Bemberg is specific type of Rayon. (Japanese if I recall.)

1. Custom - you can have your liner look cool!

2. more durable than silk

3. either is more breathable or more better at absorbing moisture - making it feel cooler when you wear it

4. silk retains odor!

Most good suits
- use Bemberg for the liner
- Horse Hair for the internal floating full canvas. (there's a layer of canvas between the bemberg liner and the wool outside that gives the entire suit "drape" - and it slowly conforms itself to your body over years, making the suits, yours. Cheap suits don't do that)
- wool comes from name brand mills.

And that's even before you start talking about made to measure or bespoke, or any of the countless other things you can do with a suit.

Love them. Aside from overall fit, it's the main detail I look for.
