Anyone have the experience of starting college after age 25?
I am in the middle of a career change and wonder what it will be like to take classes with 18 year olds. Could be good or bad, but sounds interesting.

The first obvious advantage is that you will be able to buy booze for 18 year old women. If you have a bit of money saved up from what you were doing before and your own place, you're golden. Don't stress the age difference, that shit is definitely all in your head.

You could easily have a good time if you do te following:
- get in killer shape
- dress sharp
- have a nice car
- act more mature than an 18 year old
You don't need all the women. You only need the women who find older men very attractive.

No but I recall having older people in my class. Mostly divorced women. Better get a useful degree like engineering, you don't want to waste time. And 25 is not that old you will not look old enough for it to be noticeable unless you are balding or have wrinkles.

It's funny the way perception of age works. When I was 20, I was in college with a 25 year old and remember thinking he was so damn old. When I was 22, I had an economics class with a lady who was around 30 with two kids and I remember thinking she was ancient and had nothing in common with anyone in the class (not true, but it was the perception of my young mind).
My point is that a five year spread in age seems much bigger to someone who is 20 than someone who is 35 or 40. Keep that in mind.
That said, there are multiple angle you can play if you go to college at 25. Tell the girls you owned some kind of small business or startup right out of high school, made a lot of money and sold it. Now you want to pursue higher education for the intellectual stimulation.

I am in that boat and at times I find it more of a bonus. At first you feel like a old piece of shit and felt kinda awkward but slowly it really does not matter. Unless your old and balding and dress in Jos A Bank slacks then nobody is going to call you out, and in all honesty from a game perspective: there is a key difference between a MAN and a 18 year old BOY. When I walk into lectures I always get looks from girls...always. I am a Man and for and beyond am more refined and handsome then the 18 year old runts in lecture simply because I have had more time to age better and get my looks down, in due time those 18 year old tikes will be on the same level if not above but for now is a avenue which I try to exploit.
I find just be involved in the culture its easy to be "too mature" with school and be to serious with it at a older age. Its important - don't get me wrong - but let loose and get involved in the party atmosphere of your school. I cut out Rez/campus parties after my first year and stayed mostly to the school bar scene but being involved all around campus just gets you linked to people and friends and eventually bitches.
Working Orientation is a goldmine to a pipeline of young chicks. nobody cares if your older the new student are all nervous as hell and just want to make friends. I did this twice and out partied and drank all the newbies in quick order and got a easy rep as being a hardcore guy at parties which still helps me to this day at times.
If I do get pegged about my age I do like @Smitty said and go into the stories about my times living on top of mountain and the failed attempts of opening a store on the West Coast and the many stories that lead me there. Its sky high DHV because I did what they all wanted to do: Cut the bullshit after High School and pursue what I wanted to do. I took a big risk and chance, failed and then settled on a plan B in school after I thought it all out.
Plus, somebody is always older. There will always be some laid back old ass dude in your program with grey hair whom will be the default old guy/gramps - Don't make friends with him but respect him.
Pro tip: Take a shitty general arts elective and simply use it as a factory to stack numbers and prospects. Make good with the hottest crew of girls and just make your rounds. Drop the class if you needed to, this is simply a means just to get access to the hottest girls on campus whom 9 times out of 10 are taking some random Contemporary Arts junk.

I think with economy the way it is you are going to see more and more adults going back to change careers...
When I went Away for school it was rare to see someone over 25, but when I went to a commuter school you would see adults all the time.

Yeah i went to uni when in my 20's...
So much fun. You can run "study group" game like a pro.
There is endless opportunities in post-secondary...take advantage as best you can.
Get in with as many social circles in each class as you can.
Builds massive social proof, which counts for a ton.
You'll see these girl day in day out and they'll notice you if there's always girls around you.

Late 20's guy.
I'm looking at starting graduate school in a couple years at 31 in a college town. My partying days are over in that I won't ever get wasted or do a keg stand (been there done that), but I will have access to an intellectual culture again and young women.
I think you have to work the angle of an older guy. Many young women love older men so focus on that.
Also, it helps if you don't look your age. I hang out with my brother's friends all the time (he is 19) and many of the girls he hangs out with, all around his age, didn't think I was older than 22.
Use your age to your advantage when you can, keep it under wraps when required.
I am not sure I would be too into the freshmen-senior scene less you have a lot of younger cats you are friends with that can vouch for you (social proof). Honestly, with all the dubstep shit that these young kids play I can't stand most of the parties, but you do meet a lot of fine young women.

when i was there, we had a couple of older guys (mid-late twenties) and girls loved em. Just surer of themselves, surer of what's important in life, seen all the usual BS girls can throw, etc.
Definitely get younger friends, and get into some organized social groups. Gym too. you'll have a blast.
