I don't get all the hate Mystery gets on here. His methods work for him and the people he's taught so good for him. Sure we have our own style and prefer a less formulaic approach, but Roosh's style still owes something to the foundations Mystery laid down. Mystery probably owes something to Ross Jeffries etc etc.

Agreed. For me personally Mystery is still the man and I've learnt more from his book then anyone else in the 'Game' world. In fact nobody comes close to breaking it down like Mystery did. The Mystery Method book gave me the confidence to go out armed with some skills that took me from being an introverted shy beta who could not get laid in a whorehouse to being someone who friend's consider 'good' with women. A lot of his concepts have come to be seen as outdated and you have to adapt his ideas to your own personality but as a bedrock of knowledge to get you to a stage where you no longer need to use it Mystery is the man.

I would cringe at being called a PUA,if I heard anyone refer to themselves as that in my company I'd think they were pretentious twats. I'm 100 times more then someone who just tries to bang women,I'm a photographer,a journalist,a writer,a father,a linguist,a businessman,a traveller etc. before I am a PUA of some sort. Picking up women is just something I do whilst I'm engaging in more defining activities.

My problem with Mystery is that he sold out quite a bit by doing that TV show. The guys on that show were chosen purely for comedic effect and it forever in my eyes gave a negative connotation to the term PUA. I also would be interested to see if Mystery could do as well abroad as he did in the States.

I agree with Vorkuta that PUA is a very cringey term. The way a 'PUA' is and behaves is a very inept description of what the Game is and what we are trying to accomplish in our lives as well as on this forum. An International Playboy gets women from being well rounded and desirable, whereas a PUA sort of manages to trick people, like a cheap magician at a 10 year old's birthday party.

I dont care its all semantics to me. I learn from PUA stuff as well as from manosphere and apply and test it out. I never identify with any of those fields, I dont consider myself a mens activist or a PUA. All im trying to do is bang more and hotter girls and live the life of my dreams in ALL aspects (not only girls) I dont care where the knowledge is coming from.

And I have to agree about Mystery the guy is a genius IMO. I cant understand either why he gets such a bad rep. Propably most critics havent even studied his stuff and think hes all about wearing eyeliner and doing magic tricks. AlsoI get a feeling lots of guys nowadays base their entire marketing on bashing oldschool dudes like mystery or the whole pua thing. LIke I said to me its all semantics, in the end where all trying to fuck more and hotter girls and also have lives outside of that going on aswell.

Mystery and his contemporaries have influenced all of us. Had they never popularized their methods it's possible none of us would be here. We now have guides to learn game from guys who have actually had experience (Bang, this forum, MM, etc). The previous guys had no idea what would happen when they went out and then posted their experiences on a shitty proto-messageboard.

I'm glad you guys are sticking up for Mystery. I agree.

He broke this shit down and took it to another level.

I think alot of his clothes and makeup and accessories were just to get attention. It was business. Just like his fake tv show, it was business. I understand that.

I respect him and have learned for him.

People always hate on guys that are successful and guys that are different. It's easy to be a hater.

Okay, back to the topic, I still like the term pua, I am proud to say I am a "Pick Up Artist".

I see no shame in that term.

I still follow the process of Mystery Method when doing nightgame. It works, we all follow his model unless we're not out approaching and are just running social value game.

Mystery is probably a genius when it comes to analyzing social dynamics. I mean, he started with very little background knowledge (compared to guys starting since he came out) and formulated something that works and is 'learnable'. That is pretty incredible.
