Location Dependent job again

Location Dependent job again

after several months of reflection, i've decided to switch to a location-dependent job.

currently: run a consultancy with 1 partner and 2 employees. it's a small outfit and we do around 200K/year. My own take-home is between 6-8K/month. it IS location-independent, but in order to deliver high quality service to my clients, i usually stay close to them. with a few exceptions, i travel whenever i want to. most girls i meet i do so on my own, usually at bars or through a roommate. most of these girls are 7's, but 8s and up are quite rare. i have no work friends so while it's rewarding to run your own thing, but it can be lonely, for sure.

future: join a branch of a huge conglomerate that i've been consulting on and off again for over the past 6 months or so. many of them are mid-level managers/vps/directors or assts to someone high up and have enviable lives. all-expenses paid business trips, high-end hotels, free or discounted access to shows/concerts/events, and partying with girls in the 9 and 10 range that are so hard to come by on my own. most of them make low 6 digits in addition to the subsidized apartments and sometimes a company car. they're a fun bunch of guys and i really miss the camaraderie that comes with working around other guys my age.

far from being a dead-end, soul-destroying cubicle job, i think that when you're good at what you do, even location-dependent jobs can open up worlds that you would previously not have known about or have had access to. i think the real important thing to pursue here is not location-independence but a rare and lucrative skillset that you can become an expert in.

just some thoughts i've been mulling over. most of the young rich guys i know in real life work for corporations. they are not location independent or involved in online marketing. and they love what they do.

Location Dependent job again

Good luck my friend. Starting down the road of one's own ambition can be the scariest path to take
