Wingman Calendar

I think everyone can agree the importance of a good wingman. Having read a lot of game literature this is one of the most helpful things to improve success. It was obvious in 'A dead bat in Paraguay' how much fun Roosh was having in Cordoba with his high energy buds.

I'm pretty sure that many of the active members on this forum are independent travellers, either long term or short. Someone mentioned here in another forum that wouldn't it be great if we could post our current location. Well I've got a solution. I've created a google calendar that you can post your location to if you wish. By doing so you are saying 'Anyone out there want to team up to chase some honeys'... or something like that. I've not figured out the minutiae of it just yet. If you see someone going to where you are, then you can PM them on this forum.

So if you are interested in having access to this calendar, PM me with your email address and I will add you to the access list. I'm using google calendar for this as it's easy, free and many people already have google accounts. I'm sure there are better tools out there to schedule multiple users (let me know if you do know something).

Here is the address for the calendar. Once we flesh this out a little bit, and get the process sorted, perhaps we can make it a sticky...

I would have loved to have had this last weekend in Beirut!!

Here is a link to the calendar

would this thread be better suited in the 'travel' area....?

Yeah I'll put it in the Travel section.

Also having people email you first is a bit of a entry barrier. I'd make it editable by all.

just worried about it being spammed, I was additionally thinking only people with 'x' amount of posts can use it. That will also let people read a bit of what the other has written before choosing to meet them...

Sounds like a fine idea. If anyone would be traveling in china, i can put up my location schedual by month. But a lot of the locales i visit arent to great for people who arent imersed in the culture. Still would be fun to meet up with people on the forums and learn from them.

ok, I have slightly modified the calendar concepts and created a google account to access the calendar. This will eliminate the need to send me your email address. Instead I will send you the password via PM for the account. I will do so if you either PM me or post an interest on this forum. I don't want to it without any password as anyone on the internet (read: not a registered forum user) could access and edit the calendar.

You can view the calendar here: http://www.google.com/calendar/embed?src...a/New_York (I have updated the OP link)

Once you have the password, follow the following steps:
go to http://calendar.google.com/
email: wingmancal
password: XXXX

Enter your location in the following format 'City,Country - Forum Username', eg for my last trip I would put in for the dates 'Lebanon, Beirut - Damok'. If other forum members then want to get in touch with you, they can PM you via this forum - no emails are required unless you want to share them. Additionally you could post to this thread that you have put in your dates for more exposure if interested.

If you were super keen, you could also incorporate this calendar into whatever calendar software you are already using.

Roosh: once we have this up and running, would it be possible to add an iFrame to another thread so that the calendar comes up automatically, and it only contains these instructions and people wanting to post there locations to the forum?

btw, the password isn't 'XXXX" pm me if you want the real password.

We are slowly getting more people using it.

I like the affirmative action. This is a great idea.[Image: banana.gif]

I dont know how hard it would be to do, but if you had a map, that had where members where, and where projected destinations were going to be then if a person wanted to go to brasil, he could click on brasil and see who is there and who is planning on going there.

yeah, I'm sure there is a community tool out there. Just a matter of finding it. I think with a relatively small user base, the calendar correctly used will also be very helpful.

You can only post your destinations on there if you want to meet up with someone, if not - then don't

Damok,
Could you send me the password too please?

There is probably a far better online tool for doing this... some community website where you can put in your current and future locations. Roosh has a 'where am I now' link.

Anyone know of a better tool?
