It's a shame the Nazi's co-opted the swastika because it is an ancient and powerful symbol. The symmetry and abstract qualities of it are immediately intriguing and memorable.

For simplicity and design i've always liked Hong Kong's flag even though it's a city-state.

I suppose Saudi Arabia's flag is not really conducive for peace in the Middle East, but I appreciate their honesty. Plus, it looks sort of cool.

The Princely Standard of Albert II of Monaco is pretty cool. It's not the state flag, but it's what he has on his cars and it's pretty fantastic that he has his own flag, for himself, not to mention it looks fantastic.

I agree that Bhutan's is very pleasing. The only other country with a dragon appearing on the flag that I can recall is Wales...



...whose flag isn't bad at all. I prefer this historical one, though, which is also associated with (possibly romantic) Welsh nationalism.



While we're on the subject of historical flags with dragons, this one of the Chinese Empire is my favourite.
