Manchester has the worst dressed people? Have you actually spent some reasonable time in the city or is that another generalisation based on zero experience there?

Yes obviously its a massive generalisation, based my experiences of going for maybe 4 weekends a year until i gave up because I don't like it. What I mean is it seems to have a much higher proportion of sports direct clad chavs than anywhere else I've been. Never seen so many people wearing fucking tracksuits etc. Obviously there is a trendier element but a lot of folk up there still dress like its 1994, I really noticed it last time I went. All my mates love Manchester though so it obviously just rubs me up the wrong way!

Oxford is nice. You'l find other Spaniards (there are students from both the city's 2 Universities - the famous one and Oxford Brookes) if you are struggling, but not so many that your English will suffer.

I lived in the UK for five years...Bristol is nice...as is Bath; nothing in England is cheap except cider.

well I have just moved to Birmingham, big city, lots to do (bars, clubs, restaurants, shopping...), and has changed a lot in the last 10-15 years, I have been more than pleasantly surprised. Also, cost of living is cheap (compared to London).......I have quite a nice city centre apartment and am paying less than £800 PCM

Don't go to Nottingham (my home town) and its not great. Poor and low class. Leeds, Manchester ,south coast all better.

Also I'd you're learning English you want to head to the south for the southern dialect. And I say this as someone who lived in Leeds for years. Actually Leeds and Manchester are cool.
