She is completely disrespectful to boxing and the dedication to the sport it requires. That's why it's an issue. She behaves as if it is some hobby of his, while he is on his way to becoming a "Bond villain" as she says. That in itself is wholly disrespectful to who he is, and what he has achieved.

She may be seemingly disrespectful towards boxing but wouldn't that be a product of the fact she simply doesn't like or care for the sport? I could easily see a man having the same attitude. I don't understand the "feminist" assertion. She's just a journalist/interviewer, many of whom are annoying regardless of gender. She also didn't contest his answers and laughed along with him (i.e. like when he insinuated he's unmarried because he's busy getting it in). Klitscho is a big boy. He's knows these kinds of people come with doing business. I doubt he really cares. He's too savvy for that.

You're probably right, but guys are responding to just how shitty journalists in general are nowadays, of which this woman is but one example. I used to read the New York Times Magazine, and they'd always have an interview led by Deborah Solomon. Even before getting into the forum and the manosphere jazz, I'd see her interviews and think, "Who is this fucking cunt?!"

You see the same shit from her - the interviewer turning it into this cult of personality about herself, and how she is better than the accomplished person she is interviewing, and about what she believes. These women have no grace, they always have to get their digs in and assert their superiority, and try to humiliate their interlocutor, as you see here.

More broadly, it's true of journalism in general. Instead of having someone who's an expert in their field, who genuinely understands and cares about it (i.e. boxing in this case), you have some dumb ignorant yuppie, who is only doing it so they can live out their glamorous dream of being a journalist or even a 'thought leader,' without regard to whether they actually know their shit. They will take pride in their ignorance. Hang out with some journalism students, and you'll see this - they're far more wrapped up in the idea of being a journalist, than actually being knowledgeable about say, international affairs or government policy.

Hell, even if I were interviewing Saddam Hussein or Josef Stalin, I'd have more respect, if only because the lack thereof compromises the integrity of the interview.

Props to him for not losing his cool, I would've called her out with righteous fury. But unlike some here, I don't think keeping it light and funny is any more 'alpha' - at worst you're just condoning her repugnant behavior. If you don't confront it, it just continues. Sort of reminds me of Ricky Raw's posts on confronting passive aggressive people.

PS: Was Will beta?

Her granny panties would dampen if you went off like Busta on her. Yes, Will's over reaction is kind of fem. Should've never smooch a strange man on the cheeks in the first place.

Yep Basil, Rickyraw's posts on passive aggressiveness is gold and I make sure to read them at least once every other month or so. I have used his tips on at least four occasions with confronting condescending bitches and it works great. If we have an internet "Hall of Fame" thread we should put that in the top 10.

TIME's choice of interviewer might make more sense if you imagine a 40 year old woman diddling her clit while watching Klitschko's graceful alpha dominance during this video. A hot young non-feminist openly admiring and flirting with him would kind of ruin the fantasy.

Gentleman boxer also has a PhD and runs his country's most promising political party. Unknown in America where he and his brother are presented as scary Slavic bullies. If at all. thanks for posting.

Its Vitali, not Wladimir who is into politics. But yep, both have PHD's. Both are much smarter than this stupid interviewer!

Funnily enough, this aired the other day, didn't think it was necessary to open a new thread since we've already got this one open.

It is a politics show called Hardtalk, so whilst the tone of questioning seems almost disrespectful to Vitali, he will have been briefed that this is how it goes down on this particular show. Apparently Hugo Chavez praised the show after he was interviewed by it.

Anyway, he holds his composure, and whilst his English isn't as good as his brother's, it's still a cool interview to watch. Especially if you're into politics, or at least counter-corruption politics.

I bought it on DVD due to this issue. The problem is the subtitles, it's recorded in German originally, and the online copies seem to be translated into Polish, with English over that, so it's really hard to read.

However as an American I'm sure she would be in awe of any vulgarian who had a billion dollars. She's just rude, and I think he's had a lot of experience dealing with people who are intimidated ( I think he's 6'6") and avoiding getting angry at them.

I bet when he heard it was an American woman interviewing him he knew pretty much what was coming and was laughing inside when she walked straight out of Central Casting.
Maybe the compliment was even just trolling as she probably found it irritating.

She's Australian, not American (born and educated in Sydney).

Yeah, 'left wing' because that's what she thinks is 'cool'. That's the main issue these days, being any sort of conservative is 'bad' and 'nasty'. She is very sexy though, and I'm surprised Klitschko doesn't hospitalize her every time they fuck, as I assume things are in proportion with tall fellas!

Russians who are disciplined, educated and alpha are hard to beat in the world these days, though there are very few.
Klistchko spoke better english and was more eloquent than Mohammad Ali.
Pacquaio and Mayweather are the best pound for pound fighters and do fine with the ladies, but this guy is a true international playboy.

Um...no. The both fought in the heavyweight division, and that's where the comparison's end. There are whole books of Ali poetry out there, the man was a truly brilliant wordsmith.

And you want to talk "alpha"? Ali took on the entire system and won. More than anyone else alive he is the primary reason no one under 50 has ever been drafted in the US. Ali gave up everything he cared about to stand on that principle. He could have done a good will tour in uniform and never heard a shot fired in anger, but he didn't.

And don't get me started on the BUMS that the Klistcho brothers have fought. Ali fought HALL OF FAME talent, over and over again and won. The Klistcho brothers have fought exactly no one. Bums and geezers like Rocky Marciano.

So please, let's leave Ali out of this one.

Ali was pretty unlikable, especially when you read about his treatment of Joe Frazier. His image was cleaned up by the marketing guys when he became a 'brand', after his boxing career. He also got hit far too often to be considered the best of all time. His defiance regarding Vietnam and his reasons were admirable though, admittedly. In his pomp, he was bloody good though - I think it's against Cleveland Williams where he looks sensational.

However, he isn't the greatest - heck, he's not even the best heavyweight, let alone the best boxer. Check these stats out If you're not a stats man, then it's all a matter of opinion though of course. I've thrown them around a lot on here, but they are very telling.

http://espn.go.com/boxing/story/_/id/778...ing-greats

Regarding the last point you made, the Klitschkos have fought everyone they possibly could have, and won mostly - which is all you can ask for. Marciano likewise. However, fighters like Marciano would be Light Heavy's or Cruisers nowadays and a like-for-like comparison is unfair.

Not to thread hijack, but I think you guys would like this other Hardtalk interview. Some of the finance people will have probably already seen this when it came out.

Kyle Bass just completely owns this woman, great example of subtle frame control and burns without losing your composure.

Great respect for Wladimir Klitschko an intelligent alfa.

For an Ukranian to have his level of English is impressive.

He totally breaks the sterotype of boxers being slow or stupid, but shows how stupid female "journalists" are.

That annoying cat woman wanted and ego rush by softly hummiliating what she thought a dumb brute. Yet she was the one who ended up looking bad.

Notice how the old shag tries to shame Klitschko for not being attached to a woman.

Notice how he responds that he is too spoiled to settle. Game recognized. The guy is a player.

Quite a moving story about his father.

I think part of what is going on here is that this type of "news" interview show sells itself as being hard hitting and confrontational as part of its marketing. Not "pulling punches" to use a relevant metaphor... So the interviewer feels the need to instigate some controversy or inject edginess when there really isn't a need for any. The interviewer is just trying to pump themselves up instead of learn something. She's trying to be a female version of Jeremy Paxman. Naturally, it's extremely unattractive.

If only you knew how bad things really are.
