I just got to Medellin yesterday. I haven't been to the forum in forever. There are lots of gringos looking to score here it seems. Anyone else here?
Yeah I couldn't believe it. I got off the plane and caught a cab with two guys, both of them said they were there for the girls. Met two others from my flight that basically said the same thing. Regardless, my 45 year old room mate seems to be doing just fine. I've been here two nights and he's had 2 different girls over. I'm positive one wasn't a prostitute and pretty damn sure the one he had tonight isn't either. I may be moving on pretty fast though considering I know no one here and it seems as though there are a million other gringos trying to get some ass around here. I have some spots in mind that I've heard have very little gringos. But for now it seems Medellin is a good places to be to get "used to" Colombia.
I might add though, all 4 of the dudes that I met that were here for the women have been before, so they probably aren't coming back if they weren't successful before.
From what I learned in Bogota I don't think it's too difficult to separate yourself from these guys. I do think you need a bit more time though along with a good story for why you're there and great style.
Interesting enough I even had some girls kind of ignore me early in my trip in Bogota (spent 5 weeks) that, I believe, were waiting to see what my intentions/motivations were for being there. These were girls I met during the day and a few online girls. As soon as they realized I wasn't some P4P, one week stopover they started coming at me a lot more. Also maybe me rationalizing but that was the feeling I got. I imagine Medellin will be the same. The overwhelming advantages of staying in one place for 4 weeks+ became so apparent to me throughout my trip that I don't think I'd go anywhere for shorter than that unless it was a surf/ski/adventure themed kind of trip.

It's called Colonial Thinking. They will go mad for a foreigner, despite huge bad traits, because it gives them some kind of social status and 'cred' between their girl friends. My cousin is the biggest chode in the LA area and he has a 3 girl rotation here every time he comes for vacations.

Go check out Manizales and Armenia...
It's a good break from being outright considered a sex tourist. Manizales has a huge university. Still lots of Paisas to game on. Armenia is much, much smaller, but you'd be "exotic" there. There are very few gringos.
If you're more into the darker skinned girls, hit up Baranquilla and Santa Marta. Lots of Costeñas and it's not a raging whorehouse like Cartagena.

If you plan on staying in Medallo, you'd be luckier flaunting your foreign status in the outskirts. Go to Bello, Sabaneta, and Rio Negro.
If you hang out in El Poblado, you're just another gringo looking for hookers. Parque Lleras and Parque Poblado are played out. You can meet tons of girls there, but you're not going to be able to run game. ^^^ This is all good advice. I finally hit up Medellin after living in Bogota for the past 6 months. Had a good time, lots of beautiful women, well maintained and stunning city......however I wont go back for a long time, and am very happy I am working/living in Bogota....for my next travels in Colombia I will be hitting up the smaller cities like Ibaque, Manizales, Armenia.... I felt myself annoyed at the amount of gringos, (sex tourist, hipster backpackers, and middle aged divorcees off the plane from NYC/Florida looking for their hot colombiana) In hindsight I am thankful for Medellin as it acts like the mosquito light to attract foreigners/sex tourist as it is easy and well traveled......dont get me wrong it's an amazing city, but I feel it is overplayed....

Jaja... True. The best place I hit it off in Colombia--just for being a gringo--was Barrancón in San Jose de Guaviere. Don't go there. Very dangerous. But, with the right support, you can pull it off. It was what I often think most people desire in going to an exotic place and raking in pussy, just for being you. Had similar results in Turbo, Tunja, and Caucasia. Again, not the places for a regular tourist dude. Good chance you'll get scooped up for an extended vacation in the jungle while your family tries to scrounge up an impossible ransom.
You know, though, one place I always wanted to go but never did? Pereira... Not too dangerous and it boasts a wretched reputation in Colombia for being filled to the brim with the most promiscuous chicks in the country. Every Colombian knows a good joke about the girls in Pereira being total sluts. Can't be too many gringos. I bet that place is off the hook. I totally plan on going there this summer...

I'm looking to rent a high end apartment in Mde for 3 months, but I'm not very familiar with the neighborhoods outside of Poblado. I've seen a few places in Laureles? Is this a good neighborhood? Is it far from the good bars and clubs? Can anyone recommend a neighborhood outside of Poblado? I speak "conversational" spanish, and would rather be outside of Poblado, just for the fact, i dont want to be around to many 60yr old gringo mongers.
