I was in Playa del Carmen in April of this year and it was a good time to go.

I have been to Colombia in March before and it was a good time to go.

So I would say yes.

Colombia receives very little rainfall during january, february and the beginning of march. Late march and April is when it pours.
So keep that in mind, as Colombians tend to stay home when it rains.

Airlines like VivaColombia offer cheap domestic flights so it is a good option. The bus ride between Colombia and Medellin is 7 to 8 hours on a good highway, which makes the trip relatively comfortable and it is cheaper.

So if you have no problems sleeping in a comfortable bus, then I would take the 11 pm or midnite bus and arrive the next day early in the morning.
