Girls Asking for Directions Over Text

Is this a shit test?

I tell her where to meet and she replies:

"where is that?"

Everyone's got an iphone or google, so if she can look it up.

Sometimes I'll reply:

"do you have iphone"
"yes"
"can you get google on it"

This either makes them laugh or they look it up.

What do you guys think? It's been happening a lot lately.

I've had that happen a few times as well and I honestly think it's just laziness on their part. Why go to the trouble of Google when they can just ask us? Wait, that does sound like a shit test...[Image: dodgy.gif]

Girls have always been retarded about directions and maps.

Something like Google maps isn't going to change something that has been occurring since the beginning of time.

Don't underestimate how lazy people can be. They'd rather you tell them then have to punch a few keys and fuck up finding the directions by themselves.

You get a little bit paranoid. A girl asking you "where is that" simply wants to know where is that. There's no deeper meaning about it. It's girls, they feel lost ;]

I agree with all the above. Not paranoid. I live in NYC. If you are retarded with directions here, you won't last. It takes two seconds for her to look it up. Also, isn't there a "rule" that she's got to jump through a hoop before I do anything for her?

It may seem like I'm making a big deal out of this, but I seen girls start small and then tear into my game.

Another example of this kind of thing is them changing the time of the date last minute, or them suggesting another location after I've suggested one.

I don't want to set a precedent so early on that I'm going to do anything for her for free.

I'd rather be the guy who is too important to be looking shit up for girls on google. Would they ask Brad Pitt (in the 1990s) to look something up?

everyone in NYC asks "where is that" man. They're asking for the intersection. Say "53rd and 3rd" or wherever it is. No big deal.

I usually when telling them the place say "X bar on 5th" or what not. Girls are idiots, make it easy for them.

I wouldn't make too much of it unless it sounds rude or hamsterish. It would be on par with pouncing on a girl because you're trying to schedule a date for Wednesday and she says that she already has something planned for that day but is free on Thursday or something.

Gotta make shit easy from the getgo and minimize the back and forth text chattering. When telling her where to meet, find the bar on Yelp or Google Places, hit the send to friend feature on your phone where it just texts the name of the place, address and even the link to google maps. I do this even with friends. She'll never have any reason to ask where's that.

Problem solved.

I don't think I have ever been on a date where this didn't happen.

Hell, guys do this shit all the time too.

Honestly, I think you are reading into it a little too much.

People in general are just flaky as hell.

Soup you got some funny ass threads man...

First a thread on girls crossing their legs away from you, now this.

Next Soup thread:

"Girls walking down the street with their toes pointed slightly outward. WHAT DOES IT MEAN?!"

"...so I gave her an STD, and she STILL wanted to bang me."

Ha- what does it mean!?

I'd actually conjecture toes pointed outward is a sign of confidence or an extroverted personality. Compared to Toes pointed inward- that's cowering gesture of someone trying to hide.

I do think that the crossing legs thing is a huge, almost direct communication of intention. I believe a lot of girls are actually aware that they are doing this, and, at the very least, use it as a test of social intelligence.

Overthinking it. I make it easy as fuck and when they ask i simply copy/paste the address from yelp.com. Girls are dumb re: maps and directions; make it easy for the meetup.

True new yorkers have always and will always LOVE to give directions despite any technology. They will go "where are you comin from? oh ok, there are 2 ways to get there, you can either take subway A to station B, then go crosstown with the bus, then get back in the subway and take the C line to station D, and walk 2 blocks, then you're there. Or you can start by take the crosstown bus, then transferring to the downtown bus, then get off at X&X and walk 5 blocks north. The second way is probably quicker after rush hour, but maybe not. Nah, you know, you're probably better off taking the first way if you can."

Giving directions is one of the conversation topics that make up normal conversation. You're lucky you get the chance to give directions rather than a girl being lost in her phone again, once more disconnected from the entire "real" world and ensconced in the digital world of googling. Fuck using the internet for everything, why CAN'T we just speak to each other about simple things like we used to?

Conv is different, but this is over text. Assume most girls have the internet right in front of them as they are texting back.

screw it, have fun with it then.

give her the wrong directions at first to someplace silly like central park; see if she picks up on it. then a day later text her the correct directions.
