freshcreams 2 year latin-american travel log

Just arrived in Santo Domingo.

My travel buddies did all the booking. They hadn't written down the name of the hostel, and they didn't know how much the taxi should cost, or how far it was.

We payed 1800 pesos, don't know if that's good or bad... In Zona Colonial now, we think [Image: tongue.gif]

Having read about the legends of this place, I expect to get hussled all the time here.

We're looking for apartments here, and patron is our biggest lead so far. But just for fun I started talking about it with the taxi driver. Didn't take him long to fix a lot of places for us.

I'll take it with a grain of salt and maybe call him and have a look. But right now we are super stoked on Cabarete.

The 3 short days in Santo Domingo flew by. No lays. 4 people staying in my room. And I got way too drunk almost every day. My friends didn't want to leave Zona Colonial either. "Too dangerous"...

Anyways, enough blame game. I just wasn't up to par. My bad logistics brought down my will to game.

Had a few prospects that turned out to be pros.

Got out-gamed by a south african blond guy. He was just more aggressive than me. Then again, he only got the make out and the blue balls.

In Avenida Venezuela we we're just idiots getting drunk and doing stupid shit. Fun time. A tall blond friend of mine tapped a black guy on the head while touching a picture of Adolf Hitler. Thank god I know how to say that my friend is very drunk and retarded and we are sorry in spanish.

Definetely looking forward to taking a trip back, with my own place.

In Cabarete me and my 3 friends rent two apartments from patron, from the forum. Two very nice apartments close to the main street, with a pool and a servant.

Been a week in Cabarete now.

Lots of pros, but there are some spots where you can find non-pros as well. It just takes a while to spot it. Definetly not half as bad as Sosua. That place kills me. EVERY conversation ends the same way.

Yesterday I went to the regular pool hall. I've gotten friendly with the local guy who works there. He makes sure the gringos gets a table fast. After a steady week of playing pool he started yesterday of asking for a beer. All good. I can buy him a beer.

Later last night he asked if I wanted to meet a girl. Sure. He took me down to an area with a few chairs. 4 guys with a girl in the middle. I said I don't want to steal a girl from 4 big black guys.

10 minutes later he had brought the girl up for me to meet her. We chatted a bit in my getting-close-to-ok spanish, then we parted ways.

At closing time the guy wanted to take me to a party. I jumped on a motoconcho and followed him and the other people. When we came there it was a gas station. Supposedly the only place they sold beer at 4am on a sunday night.

This is where it almost went south. EVERYONE wanted me to buy them a beer, at least that is what I remember in my drunken stupor. I said a stern no. Then the motoconcho guy wanted 200 pesos, when the regular price is 50... for me. Some say you can get away with 30.

Then I got really mad, and told him to go fcuk himself. Things got a little heated and I just give the girl a wink and jumped on a passing moto. The guy from the pool hall said today that I had yelled: "Quiero tu va a morir en la calle puta" ... or something like that. "I hope you die in the street" is the gist of it. I remember telling people that I was the only white guy at the gas station. Does EVERYONE want to scam me?

Today I got a call at around noon, asking if I'd want to hang out and meet the girl again. It was the guy from the pool hall.

They told me 20 minutes, but came after an hour. We went to the beach and just relaxed. It was me and the girl, her brother and the guy from the pool hall. They REALLY wanted me to like her. And I could tell she liked me.

We went for a walk and took a swim. She seemed like a nice girl. Then she said she was 16. And recently divorced. And the guys wanted to know if she was the kind of girl I would like to marry.

That escalated quickly. I spent half a day with that chick.

When I came home I started rationalizing. "16 is not THAT young?" ... "But I'm a teacher, that's just wrong" ... Then I found out that the age of consent is 18 here. Thanks americans, and your whoring ways!

She looked older to me. Perfect body and tits, lovely face. Nice thick lips. Oh well, maybe I'll be back in two years ^^

On the 16th I will have been in the DR one month. Still haven't gotten my flag.

I can't put my finger on it. I just don't have any mojo. Every night has been two options; just talking to pros, or getting so drunk I got into auto-go-home-mode.

Yesterday all my friends got laid. I got so drunk I went home. They took a taxi to Sosua. They all picked up a girl and took them back to our place.

Even my friend who almost never gets laid got a girl. Back home in he always gets the bottom feeders. And he might get a year-long oneitis for them too.

I feel shame. But hey, gotta share it somewhere.

Am I to understand that you got girls in Nicaragua, but you have come up empty in a month in the Dominican Republic?

Good stuff man! I enjoy reading your updates on what appears to be an awesome trip! Loved how you're gaming the Norvegian Govmint. Way to go dude![Image: smile.gif]

Just be careful with under age girls, they could set you up and then you'd be in deep shit. Other than that, keep rocking amigo!

I'm trying to figure out why you're still in the D.R.

If I'm reading your tales correctly, it appears to me that you should "cortar por lo sano" and continue your journey elsewhere.

I think it's the wild wild west aspect of this country that appeals to some of us idiots who choose to spend our time here, and with time you learn to navigate this shit pretty easily, after a few initial bumps. That, and a ton of hot and easy women.

freshcream, you should come on a ride-along with me and patron, we tend to have some good and crazy time here in Santiago. Some parts of the last weekend escape my memory but I remember partying with some super hot bitches until 6am on Saturday night (whose friends later tell us there were actually lesbian stripper girls but it could be just jealous back talk), catching a pick pocketer in the act of almost getting my wallet in the carnival crowd in La Vega, driving around in La Vega after the carnival and pretending to ask directions from 2 girls (one of them is a hot police officer) - 10 minutes later we are all in their apartment drinking beer, then we bounce back to Santiago and just hail 2 girls walking on the street - 5 minutes later they and their 4 girls friends are in the car driving to a dive bar to party some more. Just another crazy weekend here.

Have you ventured east of Cabarete?

I'm from the country so I know what it is and isn't. I was referring specifically to freshcream, his adventure does not parallel the ones that others, including yourself, have had, and those I've never questioned.

Yes agreed, you seem to be getting yourself into several beginner type jams from this thread.

I'm not giving up yet. This is a challenge, nothing more.

Even though I'm having a hard time finding the good girls, I'm getting good work done on other stuff. I'm like George Costanza right now ^^,

I just got to get through some personal shit before I can get back on track.

Problem is I am not very mobile. I'm not renting a car, and we're not going from place to place. We're just staying in Cabarete, which is filled with american sex tourists.

Also, I recently found out that the girls my boys got from Sosua the other day were all pros. They all showed up the next day, wanting them to take them to dinner. That was an hilarious scene.

More and more girls are just showing up here. Gotta get patron to build a fence soon [Image: tongue.gif]

I have not been east at all, just been a day trip to Puerto Plata and a few hoe-rides to Sosua.

My room mate is leaving now, so I need to find a new place to stay. Will be going to SD and Santiago in a few days to have a look.

I'm curious about rio san juan, and looks like there are some affordable hotels right on the beach. I'm sure the public transport is cheap. Maybe you can check it out for the forum and report back, I doubt there will be a ton of sex tourists there.

Sosua is filled with pros. Cabarete is popular for kitesurfing and has a great beach which attracts people from all over the world. I would go after the tourist girls.

The difference is me and rover have a car, which makes getting around a lot of easier. Plus we speak enough spanish and understand dominicans. It just takes time. Every weekend, me and rover are meeting new girls.

Exactly, Sosua is the p4p capital of DR, every single girl you bring from there will be a pro. Cabarete is a place to meet chicas on vacation from other countries - lots of Scandinavians and Russians among others, if you really want to get some non-pro DR girls in Cabarete, get away from the beach and spend more time in that barrio up the road leading from Ocean Dream. Gaspar Hernandez/Rio San Juan are 30/60 minutes east of Cabarete and there are virtually no tourists but it would be painful without a car.

Freshcream you need to go back to Santo Domingo and hit the local university. Approach a lot when you get there. I think you are not fucking girls there because you are not approaching. Flirt a lot with them if you dont speak spanish, touch hands, give them hugs, take the number and invite them for a coffee near your place.

Santo Domingo is not dangerous if you are not carrying any valuables. When you leave zona colonial, dont take any valuables with you and watch your surroundings at all times. If you are rolling with other guys, i doubt you will get in trouble.
