As A Freelancer, There's Nothing Better Than A Great Testimonial

Just got a testimonial from a client confirming that he'd improved his conversion rate from using my copy. Personally, I find there's nothing better than a testimonial like that, not just because I can use it in my own marketing, but also because it affirms what you're doing. Nomsayin'?

Amen! Sometimes to boost my mood I'll log in to my Guru.com profile and just look at the testimonials. Then I'll look in the mirror and start jerking off.

If you can, get the client on the phone for additional details (or conduct an "email interview") and write a case study about this, breaking down what you did for him, what it did to conversions, and how much money it ended up being worth to him.

Post it on your blog and link to it occasionally when bidding relevant jobs.

Or get some guy on fiverr to read it on video, and there you have a video testimonial.

I'm sorry but this just doesn't seem like very wise advice to me.

No real professional should ever consider hiring a fivverr "actor" to promote their services. High-end business-savvy clients are going to spot an amateur move like that a mile away...

A $10 per 500 word article writer might be able to get away with something like that, given that their clients are typically retards who don't have a business model, but a high-end copywriter? Absolutely not.

Now, if you could get your client to do the video themselves in way that isn't cheesy and doesn't disrupt your branding then you might be onto something.

I've done it plenty of times. Now if you've made more money online than I have, keep doing it your way. But I doubt it.

Point is, one video testimonial isn't doing to do it. You want several, all with different backgrounds. You can get someone from fiverr to do it, or get your customer with his iphone to record himself. Either way the result will be similar.

Agreed. Testimonials do not have to be professionally produced. They just need to look credible.
