While in Brazil, I will be heading out here so I was wondering if anyone on the forum has experienced the city Foz do Iguaçu on the Brazilian side. I hear it's active with good dining/nightlife options moreso than the Argentine side. Gaming possibilities here with locals/other tourists? haha

Any data would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I have been to both sides.

Argentian side is better for nightlife / dining. It's also safer and cheaper.

Not really. It's 9h bus travel or a [generally] expensive flight. People from Curitiba go there only to shop in Paraguay and in this case they are more groups of guys.

Truth is the city itself, Foz, has a great deal of talent, top ranked in Brazil, but your logistics are gonna be bad and not many people speak English there. If someone of your group speaks a little Spanish I guess you could run day game with good results in Foz and it's probably the best use you're going to make of your time, cos the argentine side is beautiful but I don't think you can get laid there.

Em ingles: I appreciate the advice about logistics of the city. Are you by chance from Parana as well? I'm going mainly for the falls, but it wouldn't hurt for me to go out one night and write a data sheet on Brazilian side...I welcome the challenge! haha

I went to some club in Foz. It was okay, some hot girls. But no foreigners so they will be surprised. No one speaks English it seemed.

I forget the name of the club, but I think it's the only place in town so you'll probably end up there. Try to get into the second floor VIP room as late at night the downstairs empties and all the girls who don't have VIP access look for guys who can get them up there.

I have never been to the Brazilian side but it was so god damn hot and humid when I was there. That was almost exactly a year ago. I was with a girl I met in BA and some people from Paris and we tried to go out dancing one night and had to retreat to a hippy kind of bar where they have the AC going full throttle. It was easily 40 degrees and 90-95% humidty when we were there. So bring a lot of light clothing and a lot of clean underwear.

Despite being a touristic town, it's small for brazillian standars and that means people can still find good jobs in its market without knowing any English [that doesn't mean you won't find a few English speakers among young people in night clubs as nomadicdude said - and it's also not a ONE club town; there are always 2 or 3 with regular crowd].

Your main obstacles will be two: [a] girls have a car culture, so even if you get to stay close to a club it won't be easy to pull a girl out of it if you're not on wheels; [b] it has a small town mindset, so there will be closed groups of friends (boys and girls), just like ROOSH said there are in Cordoba-Argentina, so you'll have to run "social circle game express" or whatever it's called. Not easy.

Well, I'm talking about the high talent, but of course there are low-end clubs where you can crop 5s or 6s (and hopefully some 7s) easily by spitting some words in portuñol. Anyway, those are the same girls I said you can run day game on, because they'll be at bus stops, tiny stores, restaurants (sometimes working as waiters, cashiers, etc]. So, just to avoid getting in trouble with some boyfriend, ex-husband or scams in general [never heard of any, but as a gringo it's natural for you to be reluctant], it's better to hit them on day light.

I don't know what your standars are, but this is actually gold mine: you're going to lower your bar a bit, but you'll save money and time, cos these girls are totally DTF and won't ask you for taxi money; you don't have to arrange a date in a bar, you just pick them after work and ask them where they want to go. Sit, have a few beers and drag them back to your place (or anywhere - they're not picky). After that, just dump them and forget about them (or book a 2nd bang if you wish).

Yeah my strategy could be finding a nice apt off Airbnb/hostel bookers or perhaps just a hostel for meeting people. I'm sure I can find a love hotel if need be. I'm going to go with primarily confused tourist question game during the day or nights before really opening up the attack.

In my opinion, the Argentine side offers better views of the falls.

I stayed on the Argentine side (Che Legarto hostel, which was kind of shitty) As for the nightlife, when I was there it was pretty dead. It seemed like everything shut down at around midnight. I didn't see much local talent at all. A small amount of bangable tourists girls were around but mostly in shops and restaurants not so much in the bars. Met some expats living there that said the weekends are pretty good. I was there in the middle of the week though.

Definitely go to the falls if you haven't been, because they're literally amazing, but not a place to hook up from what I saw.

Yeah I'll definitely go to the Falls on the Argentine side. That's a must. I just wonder if I'm going to have to pay $140.00 USD to enter Argentina, but that fee should allow me unlimited entry/re-entry for 10 years.

Gameplan:
1) Arrive on Friday on Brazilian side - See Falls or not. If not, daygaming it. Go party Friday night, check out the scene, approaches, etc.
2) Saturday - See both sides. Sat night, go out with approaches, dumb questions, etc.
3) Sunday - Peace out or stay an extra day depending on how lucky I get.

I'll be stubborn about posting a data sheet on this place using the re-visited thread when time comes, haha.

Does anyone have any updated data for this place? I'll be here for 2 nights in October. After reading the little info provided on here and Roosh's website I have my expectations tempered, just mostly looking for the best area to stay in. Seems like just about all of the non-resort hotels get mediocre at best reviews. Basically I am just looking for a location close to a bus line and also within walking distance of some bars.

I remember that I was there, I stayed in a pink hotel at the Brazilian side. After 5, the national park closed and if I went out for a cig I had all the falls for me alone.

But there is this restaurant where I went, themed after the Brazilian/Paraguayan/Argentinian borders in the region and so many hot girls dancing there after the dinner (it is a sort of dinner show).

You can see the difference between Argies and Southern Brazilians very clearly there.

Specifically....can you elaborate on the differences between the Southern Brazilian women in Foz do Iguaçu and the Argentine women on the other side?

Note: - I never made it out to Foz do Iguaçu yet, but will manage to do so when finally living in Brazil.

Rich Brazilian tourists but it is very quiet with a fireplace and stuff like that. And the breakfast is delicious.

You can see the difference more clearly with the guys: the argies have all curly hair and the same faces but the Brazilians just look more like Brazilians, a lot of German influences (we talked in German with some guides).

I don't know exactly but I prefer Brazilian culture.

For example:

Argies go out from 2/3 in the night until I don't know when (and brag about it), whereas Brazilians prefer to go out earlier in the evening. And Brazilians have more things that I prefer above Argentineans. But somebody else should elaborate on this: I don't have my Brazilian flag yet, but I do have my flags from Argentina, Peru and the Dominican Republic, all different.

After much speculation, Brosemite is finally heading to Foz do Iguaçu (Iguassu Falls) this week.

I had a question about the American Reciprocal fee with Argentina.

If I as an American enter Argentina for the first time in order to see Argentine side of Iguassu Falls, will I have to pay the one-time $140.00 reciprocal fee (thats valid for 10 years)?

Yes you will have to pay that fee. It is easier to sneak into the Brazil side then the Argentinian one. Sometimes they have been lax about sneaking across. By the way, best thing I have seen in my life. Argentina side is better.

Thanks for that info...but already paid ugh. It'll help if I ever head to Buenos Aires & other places in future though.
