Sunday Night in San Francisco

Sunday Night in San Francisco

I'll be in SF for a conference in January and am staying at the Marriott Marquis.

I'll be busy most of the weekend, but have Sunday night for a possible slay.

Anyone know of a bar close to that hotel (logistics) that goes off on Sunday?

Is there a better killing zone a bit further away? I searched some SF threads but didn't find a specific answer to this.

Matrix Fillmore in the Marina....only place that's popping with hot, Caucasian tail. Everything else is pretty dead and/or filled with repulsive looking hipsters.

Earlier in the day you can do El Rio from noon-8 pm in the Mission which is Salsa in the courtyard of a bar....large, mixed crowd.

Sunday Night in San Francisco

If you haven't already, Check out Lothario's recent SF Trip Report.

There are a ton of hotels in that area due to it being so close to Moscone Center. If you only have one night, hotel bars could be a good option.

I'll post links to yelp reviews to give you an idea.

The Marquis itself has a famous bar, The View, that you should def check out. Can't beat those logistics!

Also, XYZ at The W and The Lobby Bar at The St. Regis are both nearby. Bar 888 at the Intercontinental is also popular.

Honestly, ask the hotel concierge what's popping on Sunday around there. He'll know better than just about anyone.

The Redwood Room at The Clift is about half a mile away. That's a pretty famous pickup spot. Here's an article from The SF Chronicle where they interview Neil Strauss in The Redwood Room after the release of The Game:

"As soon as you walk into a bar, it's a performance. If you look around for women, you've already lost the game."

Neil Strauss, author of the just-out, sure-to-be-controversial "The Game: Penetrating the Secret Society of Pickup Artists" (Regan Books; 464 pages; $29.95), scans the Redwood Room bar in the Clift Hotel from a safe position on a couch at the side of the room. He chuckles, looking at a gaggle of guys in khakis and Oxford cloth shirts gathered near the bar, who are talking to one another but scanning the room for babes at the same time.

"Those guys are all holding their drinks defensively -- in such a tight circle there's no room for a woman," says Strauss, resplendent in Hollywood-chic denim and gold Dior shoes.

"And this guy," he adds, nodding his shaved head in the direction of a man hunched over on the bench in the middle of the room, "he's blown it already -- he is looking lonely and lost. I would talk to those women standing next to him, as a group. Just go up and ask them a question -- but not the one they're expecting. 'Who lies more -- men or women?' Always smile, and always keep your energy level slightly higher than the group you're approaching."

A word of warning: Some of the hotel bars around there, especially the Redwood Room IME, have tons of pros and semi-pros hanging around.

For day game there are plenty of options nearby:

The Embarcadero, Ferry Building, Yerba Buena, Union Square, Nordstrom, Bloomingdale's, SFMOMA, The Westfield, 111 Minna...

You could even wander around Moscone asking for directions.

Sunday Night in San Francisco

man, sunday night is brutal in SF town. If anything I would hit the town during the day. Sexy ladies doing sunday funday. Getting wasted then passing out by 3pm. There is def. some potential action there.

Matrix is terrible on sunday night. Its a well known cougar bar w/no so good looking cougars.

Re-read your OP. Honestly, would stick near your hotel and check some bars if you really wanna push sunday night. hotel bars and maybe B and B bar (next to samovar) for happy hour

Yeah, SF is only good (if even that) on Fri and Sat. Sunday the only place is Matrix but may end up cock festival as they will let in every guy and it will also be yuppie whites in their Marina fantasy land.
