Hey guys, it's my first post here... wooo!
For the last four months I've been couch surfing all over Canada/North-East of America. I've really enjoyed this experience... but I'm so overloaded with work (I'm a freelance writer) that I just can't keep couchsurfing and be as productive as I want to be.
So what I have in mind is to rent out a room in a new city each month. That way I'm still travelling and seeing new places, but I also have my own space.
I was thinking Nashville in January, Atlanta in February, Charlotte in March, Raleigh in April, Charleston in May, Savannah in June... then I don't know, lol. Hell, it's all pretty flexible.
Anyways, what I'd like to hear from you guys is some advice on finding a room for rent in each of these cities. I can pay as much as $500 per month for a room, but I'd prefer to keep it down in $350-400 per month range.
What I have been doing is posting up an ad on Nashville Craigslist saying that I'm looking for a room in January, but haven't really done much else. Do you guys think I should email the people with sublease postings up asking if I could just do it for a month? Are there other sites I should check out?
Thanks guys!
EDIT: btw, I have a car, so I'm definitely open to renting a room in the area surrounding these cities.
