Some Bruce Lee fight scenes are great, but they are somewhat choreographed. The most realistic fight scene of all time IMO, is in Franco Zefferllis Romeo and Juliet. That is as true of a street feet that aristrocatic men had at the time...between Romeo and Tybalt. Modern fight scenes like the Matrix are not realistic.

Maybe my definition of a great fight scene is when you feel like you are in seeing true street fight. Choreographed fight scenes dont do it for me. The fight in Pulp fition with Bruce Willis and the big black ganster is a good one too.

So you like them realistic, but not too realistic?

If we're talking movies, I like them to be super-stylized--with dudes flying through the air, if need be. For real fights, I like MMA-style highlights. I think of those separately.

Great thread. I'm gonna cast my vote for another Van Damme film, after he did "Bloodsport". The movie is "Cyborg" from 1989. It's not so much that this gets my vote based on just the fight sequence alone, but also the villain. Meet Fender Tremolo. The most underappreciated bad guy in movie history. Also, check out the opening monologue from this film. It's legendary.

Though I'll always remember Butch Cassidy's fight with the 'new leader' of his old gang, was a great scene just for the simplicity of the fight and alphaness oozing out through Newman and Redford
