Big potential but the Turk remains Turk.Meaning too much corruption, laziness, dishonesty, inequality. In Istanbul I saw extremes.Impressive skyscrapers and lots of poor people in crowded streets.

Greek Kamaki,

I'm working on emerging markets.
I like your posts but this one is just comments base on envy.
Turkey had very big economic crisis on 2001 and it was very big chock for Turkish people. They had many crisis before but last one changed everything in Turkey.
Firstly, they had very competitive industry and very good export operations that called little China on the contrary of Greece. I regret to inform you that Greece had financial support from EU during long long years but your stupid politicians spent all money to make your people more and more lazy.
Now, Turkish people used to work so hard that hope Greek people would have lessons from Turkish.

It is only that they keep the lira and afford very low salaries.
The crisis of Greece is a different subject and has not been analyzed correctly by insiders or outsiders thus the cause of so many errors.Let's say they cannot confess the uncoffessable. It is devil's economics total failure of the elites and they cannot get any treatment since they do not know the cause.

You are working on markets and your conclusion is that Greek people are lazy and we should learn from Turkey?I dare say you will become an amazing financial expert. The Adam Smith of the 21st century.Turkey is relatively stable in the past few years due to the devaluation of the lira in 2003 and the fact that wages are extremely low for the vast majority of the labour force. As i said in a previous post Turkey in my eyes is a bubble and in a few years will be like Greece is now.Just look a few years ago when Turkey was under IMF and Greece was organising the Olympic games with a 10-15% growth every year. All the financial experts then hailed Greece as an example.

I do not believe Turkey will have a crisis as most of the crisis components in Greece are absent in Turkey.Turkey has the advantage of large youth population. In my opinion they will continue doing better than countries like Bulgaria or Romania despite the latter belonging to EU.Greece will decline to levels below Poland somewhere in the level of Hungary.
The crisis of Greece is an internal thing.I was surprised it did not hit before in 2006 or 2007.I could not explain it at that time the old guard were sustainable by mere law of dormacy.

Turkish girls can be real sluts, lets talk about that and drop the religon nonsense

For Cyprus and its islamic ways, it will NEVER be allowed to join the EU market no matter how many times it asks

"Lifes about, shooting your load"

the Ottoman Empire shall rise again !

The model of the Islamic part of the world to enter modernity is the Turkey model. Its the compromise.

As such, Turkey will be the lead player in the Middle East when the dust clears ......NOT ....the "West".
