I-94 Going through the US border

I have a US multiple entry tourist visa. My I-94 expired and I meant to send it in but I forgot. Now it's at home. I live in Canada and have a Canadian permanent residency(and Indian citizenry).

I'm supposed to travel through the border tomorrow for a weekend trip. Will I have any issues with getting through the border?

I'll be going on a Greyhound bus

Anyone got any experience with this? Someone here's gotta know considering how much you all travel.

My only experience going through the US border is with my Canadian passport. Is there no information available on the Canada border services website? They should have something for people with permanent residency.

If you can't prove that you were back in Canada you will have problems. Do you have any payslips or statements on you?

Would my credit card or debit card statement helped? I've withdrawn money in Canada frequently.

A couple of things that are not clear.. what do you mean when you say have the I 94 at home? I 94 is surrendered when you leave the US and then stapled to the passport, in your case Indian passport, when you re-enter.
Second, did your multiple point tourist visa expire or is that still active?

My mulitiple tourist visa hasn't expired.

I didn't surrender the I94 last time I left, probably because I thought I'd be back.

I took the I94 out of the passport but forgot to mail it in, its at my parents home while I'm at college.

I would take the statements and enrolment information with you to prove ties to Canada. You are likely to get shit but it won't be something they haven't seen before. Get that I 94 slip back to KY and give new ones back to the border guard in Canada in the future.

This happened to me once, though I'm a canadian citizen. There is a link on the immigration or CBP website for the US (sorry on the road right now, don't have time to grab the link) that gives and address and procedure for submitting an I-94 when you forget. It gives a mailing address in kentucky, you are supposed to send it there and then keep a copy of your letter and submission for when you cross the border.

I was never asked about mine. Oh wait! Just found the link https://help.cbp.gov/app/answers/detail/...ve-my-i-94

How did you left the USA, by the plane or bus/car?

Tkid,
how long have you been living in Canada? As long as you've lived here for 3 years and are at least a landed immigrant with a permanent residency, then you can apply for the citizenship which takes about a year. Do it ASAP! The first thing to do once you return is to apply for your Canadian passport. That's probably one of the only positives about this country, the passport. Good luck with your trip to the US. Let us know how it went.

Decided not to go as I'd rather not waste time at the border in case they don't let me go through. I left by car last time I believe.

Yeah I'll be applying for citizenship, I think its another year before I can.

I'm almost 100% sure that you would need your Indian passport with valid US visa in it to enter the US. Many years ago I believe it was possible for permanent residents to just use their PR card to travel to the US, but this is no longer the case.

By the way, I think it now takes around 1 year to obtain your Canadian citizenship after you are eligible and apply for it. The actual work done probably takes 1 hour. So CiC take 1 year to do 1 hours work. Your tax dollars at work.

For anyone crossing the border into the USA, make sure that your shits in order and you're not drunk or stoned because the border agents are going to bust your balls big time.

Some of my friends and acquaintances have basically been banned from the States because they're idiots and did stupid things like: one guy had an empty bag of coke in his luggage (residue) another forgot about a gram of weed in his backpack and the one that shocked me was this girl who I met up with last week in Vancouver, the border guards were suspicious of her behavior (she was high on something) and seized her smart phone, they down loaded all of her info (email, texts, etc) and determined she was going to Vegas to strip (which was true), they turned her back because she had no visa and lied to them about the purpose of her trip. She showed me the piece of paper they gave her informing her that they have the right to search all electronic equipment such as phones, lap tops, etc.

Of course these people are morons and deserve what they got, I've passed through several times by plane in recent years and never have a problem, just make sure your ducks are in a row boys because being banned from the States sucks!
