Nashville Data Sheet
I've spent a little over a year in Nashville, and think the data sheet needs some filling out.
Let's start with a macro look:
Nashville has a population of ~600k. It's ~1.5 million if you draw from the surrounding 3 counties, which is a relevant consideration on the weekends because there's nothing for the majority of those people to do but go to Nashville. As a result, you get a fair amount of young people coming for an evening from Clarkesville (most Ft Campbell Army guys), Columbia, Murfreesboro, etc.
Nashville is big part of the Bible Belt. Granted, this means you'll just get a higher proportion of hypocrites, but you're also going to get a higher proportion of actual believers, which makes a difference at the margin. Combine that with it being part of the South, and you get a generally lower age of marriage, which takes out a not insignificant portion of the fuckable female population. They are friendly though.
On the flip side of the same coin, dudes here are CHODES. The first time I went out I thought I'd missed the memo on the uniform: southern swoop hairstyle, pastel polo, khaki shorts, flip flops. I literally, LITERALLY, no exaggeration whatsoever, saw dozens of guys wearing that exact style. Combine that with the "Southern Gentleman" thing, and the most competition you have is all the womens' cumulative expectations of being treated like that.
The Nashville economy revolves around two industries: health care and music, with slight gimmes to government (seeing as how it's the state capitol) and education (if you include MTSU, there are ~60k students in the area). Why is this relevant? Because 99% of the girls you meet will fall into one of 3 categories: student, singer/songwriter/taylorswift wannabe, or nurse/tech/PA. GUARANTEED. It always makes for a fun cold-read.
Along those lines, if you adjust for cost of living, Davidson county is one of the wealthiest in the nation. That means you get a whole lot of HOT rich white daddy's girls. And they can be absolutely stunning. Lots of blonds in great shape wearing expensive shit. Also, this is the South, not the Midwest, so girls here tend to dress slightly nicer.
However, again there's a flip side: if you aren't in one of the above industries, then you can't find a job here (and surprisingly or no, music is largely dominate by men, so don't expect a large influx of women. Chicks typically aren't as interested in the technical aspects of the business, which is most of it. Shocker). If you can't find a job or other means of support (*cough*husband*cough*), what do you do? Leave. Which is what most non-college 18-35 year old girls do unless they marry. That leaves us with college students and married chicks, neither of which are easy to pick up (and I don't bang married women as a personal rule) for a host of reasons. Don't get me wrong: I have nailed college chicks, and I've nailed 22-30 y/o post-college chicks, so it's definitely possible. My point is that you'll put in more time than in other larger cities where the social networks aren't as tight as they are in Nashville.
Along the lines of above, unless a person is moving to Nashville for the music industry or to go to Vanderbilt, it is highly, highly likely that they're moving to Nashville from another part of the South (the Midwest at the most). This means Nashville is very white and black, with only minor minority populations. There's very little hussle. It also means people here tend to have strong social networks, because even if they move from bumfuck, nowhere 500 miles away, they'll probably get plugged into some sort of community right away (church is popular, social groups widely available). A damn good portion of my bangs here have come from girls in some sort of transition, ie just moved here/just started school here/just broke up with a guy and lost his friend network. When a girl has a large social network, she not only has more immediate, plausible options, but she also has a lot more judgment placed on her. Keep this in mind in Nashville, because it can save you from wasting a ton of time on a friendly, but not DTF girl.
The drivers here suck a giant load of elephant balls. Be prepared to waste a lot of time at stopsigns and yellow lights. I get road-rage worse here than anywhere I've ever been because of how much of my time these people waste.
One final macro note: Nashville is also one of the big hipster scenes in the US, probably due to the music industry, which is apparently only behind LA and NY in terms of influence. I wouldn't know and don't care. Hipsters hang out in East Nashville. If that's your thing, happy hunting.
Alright, what you've been waiting for: The micro look.
Daygame:
Festivals - Nashville is called "Music City" for a reason: there is ALWAYS somebody playing something. However, again Nashville is part of the South, so people tend to go in groups, meet up to form large groups, hang out in large groups, and then leave in groups. Not always, but I know my friends do it, and I've witnessed a lot of it as well. You've been warned.
Public Places - somebody said downtown (DT) was good. I completely disagree. I've made a point of going downtown at different times over the last year to see if it was decent. It always sucked. Remember: healthcare and music, and when it comes to healthcare, the corporate offices are mostly run by dudes, not cute nurses. Cute nurses = hospitals. Downtown = offices. You do the math. One thing to note about DT: the absolute hottest chicks in Nashville will be working at the bars/restaurants in DT. Seriously, they purposely choose smoking hot daisy-duke wearing blondes, so don't judge DT's quality based on the chicks who work in the service industries.
That being said, there are a couple decent options. IMO the Green Hills Mall is THE place to do weekend daygame in Nashville. It's the nicest mall around, and closest to where all the wealthy-er white chicks live. Hell, I've stopped plenty of out-of-towners there, as well as chicks who have driven up to shop at the nicer stores. If you're a single chick with any sort of disposable income between 20-45, that's where you shop.
The other option is on 21st Ave near Vanderbilt. There are really two options: near Fido's in Hillsboro Village, and near Starbucks farther north (near CVS). This is exactly what Roosh meant by "low-traffic, pedestrian sidewalks near a college campus" (or whatever he said along those lines). At Starbucks you'll get the Vandy students, and Fido's you'll get a mix of Vandy, Belmont, nurses, singers, and a fair amount of hipsters. People walk up and down these streets all day long, so if you have the time, park your ass on a chair with a book or whatever and wait. Something decent will walk by.
Non-public places, ie College Campuses: Vanderbilt and Belmont. If you like black chicks, check out TSU. Otherwise, stick to the first two. Just wander around, act lost and do your thing. Note that Vandy sorority chicks are probably the hardest girls to pick up in all of Tennessee. I've literally seen guys with awesome game (notably my buddy from Miami who kills it) get blown out because he wasn't in a frat. It's a status thing here; for a good portion of these girls, they won't even listen to a word you say if you're not in a frat. Literally. Belmont is smaller, but you don't have the same issues.
Personally, I wouldn't recommend daygame (most especially daygaming college campuses) if you're just visiting. The quality is fantastic, but you almost always have to play the long game.
Nightgame:
This breaks down into three areas: East Nashville, Downtown (DT), and Division/Demonbreun.
East Nashville: otherwise known as East Nasty, because of the hipsters. Check out 5 Points as your starting location. Mostly laid-back bars. Not my scene.
Downtown: Downtown is where all the "tourists" go because they don't know any better. It's also the only place in Nash that can accommodate large groups, so the vast majority of bachelorette/bachelor parties end up here. Nashville is not big on the list of places true foreigners want to see, so getting flags here is tough. It's got everything from hip-hop clubs to dueling piano bars to honky tonks (heavy on the honky tonks of course). Ratios tend to suck, but that doesn't mean much because a large portion of the guys are middle-age fat tourists standing around, pretending to enjoy themselves on a "night out" but really wishing they were in bed. On the plus side, everything is concentrated so it's super easy to barhop and most places don't charge cover.
Here's my personal opinion on DT: if you're with a large group that wants to get rowdy, go DT. Otherwise, it suuuuuuucks. I've pulled from there a few times, but literally every single time I end up DT I come back saying "DT always sucks. Why do I go DT?!" My wing, who has been here a while longer than me, agrees. We both much prefer...
Division/Demonbreun - This is where the locals go. Div/Dem is actually two separate streets that sort of run into each other and are packed with bars. A couple new bars just opened up on Demonbreun, the best of which is "South" (cover). It runs slightly older than the college crowd, making it ideal for pulling ass. I fucking hate Red Rooster (cover), especially since they epitomize the "treat guys like garbage" bouncer mindset. Dan McGinnis is off/on but always worth a shot (no cover), and Tin Roof (cover) is a known Vandy hangout. On the whole, Demonbreun is a younger crowd than Division, which is odd because Division is closer to Vanderbilt.
The first Division bar is a few hundred meters down the road from the last Demonbreun bar (just passed the traffic circle). Coming from Demonbreun, you hit Red Door (no cover), Losers (no cover), Winners (no cover), and Rebar (no cover). Winners/Losers/Rebar are pretty much interchangeable and have a "Southern" feel, ie Southern former fratboys in their late 20's/early 30's. Red Door is the same age group but more hipsterish.
To be honest, it's so easy to barhop here that my wing and I usually just do rounds, looking for available women.
Other random spots are sprinkled around Nashville. There's a fairly lively scene in Green Hills around Greenhouse Bar, and the Gulch has several overpriced bar/restaurants for the working professional late 20's/early 30's set (not a large group, if you recall from the above).
On the whole Nashville is a very pleasant, fun city where the girls are definitely hotter than average but also typically require a bit more work to bang than some big cities due to the Southern effect (I'm including the stronger social networks/early marriage in that). Personally, once I'm done with school I'm going to be looking for another place to live (Chicago is looking promising, though everyone keeps talking up NYC). If I ever decide to settle down and have a family, however, Nashville would be a great place to do it.
