How Pinterest Is Killing Feminism

It's kind of funny that the article constantly emphasizes American women want information on diet, healthy recipes, fitness, and all the other topics women were traditionally interested in.

If they want this information so badly, then why the fuck don't they use it and lose weight, dress pretty, and act feminine?

Article is too big with too many photos to post here. Excerpts below:
http://www.buzzfeed.com/amyodell/how-pin...g-feminism

One in five women over the age of 18 who regularly use the internet is on Pinterest, which had an estimated 23 million users users as of July. It also has an overwhelmingly female audience; around 60 percent of visitors to the site are women. And the site is only growing: between July 2011 and July 2012, 22 million users joined. Since Pinterest stopped requiring an invite to become a member in August, that number is only increasing. But the site's popularity highlights an uncomfortable reality: Pinterest's user-generated content, which overwhelmingly emphasizes recipes, home decor, and fitness and fashion tips, feels like a reminder that women still seek out the retrograde, materialistic content that women's magazines have been hawking for decades — and that the internet was supposed to help overcome.

This isn't where the internet was supposed to take us. The women I know who work in online women's media hoped that the online content they created would provide an intellectual but fun alternative to print publications' predictable fare.

Those fucking men!

They are all up in our rights by creating the internet to keep us subdued as slaves to the evil metaphorical phallus of the patriarchy!

Stereotypes true, dog bites man.

Feminists' greatest enemy is other women, not men. They reveal just how ludicrous the feminist platform is.

What the fuck were they expecting? Intellectual discussions about Enlightenment philosophy? That's not what girls spend the day thinking about. A chick in 2012 only cares about fashion, make-up, and baking. And that's what you see on Pinterest.

I don't think it's just the feminists though, it's all women. They're constantly cutting each other down.

Great find Smitty. I've been noticing a similar trend as well from my 22-26 year old female friends. They live on Pintrest and now they all wanna quit their jobs and become housewives so they can have time to cook all the new recipes and make the cool crafts. Some have actually admitted to being pissed that they were tricked into "wanting a career", when in fact, all they wanna do is stay at home, raise some kids, and do arts and crafts, watch tv, and cook cool recipes.

Im not saying all females want to be housewives, I realize a decent portion truly want a career, but I do feel bad for the majority that are slowly starting to realize they were duped into "grrl Power" and a stressful job and now just want to be housewives so they dont have to work. Thats a whole nother problem though (as the grrl power wont let them be passive in the relationship and they still want to "boss" their husband around even though he now enables their stay-at-home fun lifestyle)

P Dog, I love how feminist women, because of behavior and/or appearance, are almost never given interest by men. So they try and turn the women we are interested in against us, giving themselves a better chance.

This my favorite part:

I guarantee that the woman who posted that is at least 30 pounds heavier than the girl in the picture. Also, the actual pin-up models from that era were quite thin by today's standards.

And of course it's followed up by string of women and yes-men betas.

Crazy. That woman is a 9-9.5 in the 50s and would be the same today. I'd put her BMI at about 22. And some fatty is complaining that they would have been hot in the 50s?

Dr Johnson rumbles with the RawGod. And lives to regret it.

Yeah. This woman is curvy. I wonder if these fatties really view themselves like this.
The funny part if these fatties knew this girl, they would jokingly tell her to eat or ask her if something was wrong with her.

Feminists can try all they want, but women are still going to be look for the information to make themselves attractive to the guys they really want. And that' not the beta who bleat that fatties are beautiful.

Sites like Jezebel were created as an antidote to women's print magazines, which are rife with diet, fitness and dressing tips. The internet has for many years now been thought of as a place where women can find smarter, meatier reads just for them.

Hah "smarter, meatier reads." As if Jezebel isn't just a very large trolling site-- garden variety sensational journalism with a bitchy attitude to get people arguing about nothing. Turns out when the jizzabellers get tired of spewing outrage about a man who used a spreadsheet to organize his dating life, they go back to things that actually make life better: good food, a pleasant home, personal health, and being attractive.
