Spain / Barcelona or Southern France? (during winter)

Hello, a newbie here who's been lurking for the past couple months. Finally it's the first of October [Image: smile.gif]

I have an opportunity to travel with 3 girls (some cute, but mostly friends) during the coming Christmas vacation to somewhere in Southern Europe. We haven't decided exactly where yet (we've only started talking about it, but one thing that's pretty sure is that it'll be somewhere warm in Europe).
They're also interested in Paris, along with some other parts of France (sorry i'm starting to sound beta here, but i do enjoy spending time with them; also, i'm just getting started xD)

I've looked and searched for Spain and Barcelona, but can't seem to find much about Barcelona, which is a bit surprising considering how the city itself is quite well-known.

Does anyone have any idea as to the difference between France and Spain? Perhaps it's possible to hit Barcelona (which is on Northeastern region of Spain) then also make a trip to Southern France.
How are Barcelona and southern France during the winter (mid December to mid January)?

As for game, I got started late this summer, and so far i've been enjoying day game. Personally I'm quite a bit into leading a "healthy" lifestyle, and I also find the challenges of walking up to a woman under the broad daylight fun and enticing.
Would Barcelona be mostly night / club game (one thing i keep hearing about Spain is how late people party and take a siesta to make up for the lost sleep)

Neither Barcelona nor Southern France will be warm at that time of the year. Maybe warm compared to where you are coming from, but expect the average temperature during that time to be in the low teens celsius. Definitely not beach weather.

The warmest place in Europe during the winter is the Costa Del Sol. Around Marbella, Malaga etc. Even there expect the temperature to be in the high teens, with a few sunny days.

If you are looking for hot weather during the winter in Europe, you will have to head to the Canary Islands or something. Nowhere in mainland Europe will you get steady above 20 degrees celsius winter temperatures. Other options are Malta or Cyprus.

Thanks for the heads up, ManAbout.

It'll be okay even if the weather isn't constantly hot. We'll be happy with a spring/fall weather and to escape the snow (we're in Northeast USA).
Personally I also find that girls are often very receptive during the spring and fall, more so than during the winter or the summer with their cold, or hot, humid climates. Maybe the "fair" weather does something to their hormones while extreme conditions somehow shut them down or make them tired. (i'm no biological scientist, just personal observation)

So somewhere between 15 and 20 degrees celsius will make us happy.

Um Nice and the french riviera is quite empty during this period, you will only hit the locals. Plus the majority of people will go skiing in the southern Alpes which is 1h30/2h away by car. So try Barcelona to find a better nightlife.

Also 15-20 Degrees is a bit optimistic, I guess it would be more around 8-14 Degrees in avg, depends if you're lucky or no.

I would suggest Andalusia if the weather is a big deal. I was in Seville in November/December and it only got chilly at night. You can walk around during the day without a jacket. Seville is a fun city. Also, you can take the ferry from Algeciras and hop across to Morocco for a few days. It takes half an hour on the fast ferry.

Barcelona will be a few degrees colder, but on the other hand, if you are coming to Spain, you really do want to visit BCN.

Yes, for Barcelona and Nice it would be. But, in Andalusia that's quite realistic.

Barcelona will be nowhere near 27 in winter - more like 12-15 - I've been there in January. ManAbout is correct. Seville is a lively, beautiful city and your best bet for warm weather on the European mainland. I was there in December and January one year and it averaged about 17, with some days over 20 and others as low as 12. It can also rain a lot in winter.
