Nobody should try to copy a celeb's look, but often times you can look at your Ryan Goslings, Joseph Gordon Levitt, Javier Bardem's of the world and see something cool that you could incorporate into your own day to day wardrobe.

But 'Ye? can't do it. He's supposed to be the most fashionable rapper in the game, and I hate everything about his gear. The only accessory of his I like is the Kardashian arm piece.

In a lot of those photos he seems to be dresses with a "Ha! I'm famous, Ill do what I want" kind of vibe. And in more hers wearing a nice jacket with baggy pants and skate shoe's.

There was a denim jacket I looked at could imagine adding to my casual wardrobe, But id still rather stick to a nice leather.

He seems to dress in stages, taking a clean and comfortable base layer (pants, t-shirt) maybe have some bright colours in the t-shirt, Put on some big bold kicks and then throw on really flash blazer or coat to top it off.

I can't ever imagine seeing myself dress like this either.

Jay Z has the same budget for fashion that ye does and he looks tight as hell most of the time. Especially when rocking suits.

I don't hold celebs to any standard with regard to attire. They're always on stage, always performing even when they actually aren't. Some are on the clock 24/7, and are more into standing out with outlandish colors or outfits. I think it's great when guys throw on a suit after a certain point in their careers (Jay-Z acknowledged that at a certain age in hip-hop you have to change your style or you lose credibility), but I don't hold it against others that choose not to. The music industry in particular is very casual in terms of dress, including executives.

One artist I always appreciated was the late Robert Palmer. In his videos we always saw him suited-down, but he walked around like that all the time. In the 90s I saw him in person strolling down 5th Avenue, double-breasted suited-down, like he always was in his videos.

He goes over the top in how he throws things together but his style is to try to be ahead of the curve and get people talking so even if he looks stupid to us he's done his job if we're talking about it. That said if you take some of the individual pieces, they're wearable. The tapered into the ankles on all his pants is a look I can't stand personally, no guy looks better in a pair of skinny jeans pants.

the whole concept of fashion is about how you present yourself to the world. to wear uncommon things and be confident, to the point that others begin to mimic you, is far from omega. he wears some weird shit but I respect him for it. it's one thing to be a teenager at the mall with a pink mohawk looking for attention. it's another thing to start your own fashion line and have it worn on a runway in paris.

I'm obviously a huge kanye fan. he has taken hip-hop to places that nobody else ever has. but admittedly his fashion sense is outlandish for my taste, other than a pair of vintage air jordans that I wear occasionally.

people on that level, with very artistic souls so to speak, they don't even want to be fashionable. they have access to everything so that's easy for them. instead, they want to push boundaries, they crave being known for introducing new trends, they compete with each other. so they try shit. no wonder most of the time they look like shit.

jay-z is more of a business man, kanye is an artist. they even had some harsh arguments during 'watch the throne' album sessions over direction, vibe, etc. jay was looking at it from business standpoint, kanye just wanted to go all out no matter what. that's the mindset differences.

artists with their "creativity" (often times obnoxious) and their disregard of standards are kind of fucked in the head from regular people standpoint. i know cause i definitely feel like them : )

Kanye's style is way too flamboyant to be of much use to me for inspiration, but I think having a look that bold is a sign of major confidence and a DHV with women. Especially if the way you carry yourself is congruent with your fashion sense.

My style of dress is fairly conservative and I wouldn't mind adding a touch of edginess to it. Not anywhere to the degree of Kanye, but something that will differentiate me.

Some of his more daring pieces like leather pants and shit like that are an obvious hell no. But the idea is not to completely copy his look but to get ideas from someone like Kanye since your more than likely only going to see him in the trendiest of trendy. Designers salivate over the idea of someone like Kanye sporting their shit to promote it. So if you want to know whats really popping when it comes to fashion, you'd be a fool to just totally disregard someone like Kanye. You get an idea for a hoodie here, some tennis shoes there, some jeans here....so on and so forth. Of course you wouldnt hit the club in that Michael jackson "beat it" jacket. But id definitely rock some of the shit that Kanye wears....just not all of it.
