The more I eat the hungrier I am....
09-07-2012, 05:47 PM
Just me?
Seriously if I eat then I need to eat every couple of hours from there on in and can't avoid it, it makes me rabid hungry. If I don't eat I don't get hungry that easily and can easily go all day without eating anything, fasted for 24hrs earlier this week without issue. Have been doing 18-20hr fasts regularly and it's been easy. If I eat in the morning I eat non stop all day!

What are you eating? Insulin spikes will make you hungrier.

Does not matter what I eat. If I eat anything, regardless of what it is and how big the portions is, then I am hungry 2hrs later.
Tell me more about insulin spikes?

how much do you rely on processed carbohydrates like bread, sugar, corn? i guess a fair amount. second would be high amounts of rice/potatoes but those are safer than the aforementioned.

You probably need to add more complex carbs & fiber to your diet

I'd say try and eat more protein and fats. They have a greater satiety on your appetite for longer periods of time. Carbs give you a full feeling but it quickly wears off.
You should be eating at least 1 gram of protein per pound of bodyweight.

I've been trying to cut out carbs and bread, potato, unnatural sugar etc and focus more on eating meat, veg and fruit. Will see if it helps or not.

I'm guessing you're eating a lot of refined carbs and sugar. Those will impair leptin sensitivity and make you binge. Get a diet more focused on protein and fat.

There is a rather Naijalicious food consumed that feels adequately heavy. Very fibrous and very filling for those who are doing laborous work. I swear it always helps with losing weight ironically.
It's called garri or eba. In plant form, it's known as yucca to the Hispanics and cassava to English speakers. However, in its ground form, where it is in granules similar, you add hot water and pound into a dough and then you eat it with a stew. My appetite is fiendish and I know no one who has eaten that and felt hungry 2 hours later. It sticks to your ribs like a Bernard Hopkins jab.
You can find it in West African stores, usually run by Ghanians. Here in Miami, I buy it from an Indian Jamaican woman who runs a West Indian store.
If you can't find it, maybe see if you can order it online or make friends with a local Nigerian and he or she will find you some.
P.S. No matter where you are in the world, you will find a Nigerian close by.
Guaranteed.
