Not sure where the hate is coming from. Both you in this post and Hairyballs who sends me angry PM's.
I have worked on my blog while traveling. In fact I worked on my blog for almost a year while traveling.
Neil, I didn't post any hate. I am just saying that many wouldn't want to spend all their cash traveling the way you did with nothing to fall back on.
Besides, all that matters if you are happy with what you did and how things turned out.
You spent very little time on your blog. Let's be honest, shall we? I said it a few times on this forum and your response was to invest all your time into traveling and work when you got back home.
You had three years to blog about your travels and pull in traffic to sell stuff. Lot's of stuff to sell as an affiliate until you got your book up and running. At the end of the day, there is nothing stopping you from making money from a blog and getting you back into the world. You seemed to be happy with very little cash so that will make it quicker to get back to SEA or some other cheap poosy paradise..
I do consider making fun of make current living situation a bit of a low blow.
I knew beforehand that I was gonna spend all my money and start from nothing. I thought it over and it seemed like a thing I could do and then start from scratch which is a challenge but I like challenges. It will be alright and I already have some plans again to make some cash.
About my blog. I kept a dutch blog from the start and didn't start out traveling as a player. It grew on me and after nearly two years i decided to start the blog about it which has seen many changes in the last 1.5 years. You have to consider the fact that i knew NOTHING about building websites, SEO etc etc. Absolutely nothing. I had to learn everything myself and ask others for help sometimes.
I build a website from scratch while moving town every 4 days on a 10 inch laptop while keeping a Dutch blog and traveling boozing, chasing pussy and sometimes just surviving. It's not as easy as it looks.
Traveling with a budget of 1500 or 4000 a month makes a huge difference. There's no denying that nor am I debating it.
It both has it advantages. 4k buys you luxury and easiness of traveling.
Traveling and gaming on 1.5k brings out other qualities and facets of traveling a 4k traveler will never see.
I'm not saying one is better than the other like Hairyballs is doing. I'm sure he has other qualities than me (presuming his story is true) He would be better at hanging out in high end places and mixing with higher classed people where I would fall out out of place.
I on the other hand am probably capable of surviving just anything, anywhere. Even if the world looked like a scene from Mad Max.
