Straw Feminist Comic

A comic by a woman on feminism. Too big to include, you'll just have to follow the link.

http://www.harkavagrant.com/index.html?id=341

"Alpha children wear grey. They work much harder than we do, because they're so frightfully clever. I'm awfully glad I'm a Beta, because I don't work so hard. And then we are much better than the Gammas and Deltas. Gammas are stupid. They all wear green, and Delta children wear khaki. Oh no, I don't want to play with Delta children. And Epsilons are still worse. They're too stupid to be able to read or write. Besides they wear black, which is such a beastly color. I'm so glad I'm a Beta."

I'm assuming that this is actually a pro-feminist cartoon. The joke being that straw feminists are exaggerated charicatures of real feminists. And yet, if you go to the online hamster thread, short of actually wanting all men dead, you can find women saying these exact things on their OKCupid profiles.

This is pro-feminist satire. I'll admit, it's clever and almost too subtle, especially for guys like us.

It is pro-feminist, but that's the funniest thing about this comic. Even though their power and influence is strong, the name feminism can't escape its negative reputation. And real life shows that it is a well deserved one. For example, the psychos at radfemhub really do say they want all men dead.

The bra burning part really does give it away.

"Gender" jargon word-salad maker misandrist girls on twitter hate it. So that's something.

Favorite comment so far is:
"Feminism isn’t about hating men and burning bras, and it’s unfortunate when those kinds of “feminists” are the ones with the loudest voices, and I too would love to distance myself from them." (source)

The cartoon implies that 'real', not 'straw', feminists are all about equality and making the world a fairer place to live in for both men and women. We don't have to look far into mainstream feminist arguments (the ridiculous pay gap=discrimination bullshit for example) to see that this is simply a lie.
