This is maybe the coolest wildlife video I've ever seen. You gotta see this:

I have a new-found respect for birds of prey.

Watching dreams

Saw this on Through the Wormhole Season 3 Episode 4. It would be cool if they did this with sound so that if you think about a melody, the machine would play the melody.

This is from an episode of El hombre y la tierra, this documentary series is well worth watching in spite of having been made more than 40 years ago and the man who did it, Félix Rodríguez de la Fuente the most respected naturalist in the country, to the level of respect of Jacques Cousteau in France. The man got balls of steel, died in a plane crash while making a programme about sled dog racing in Alaska... RIP wherever you are, sir.

"Blue Lava"

Quote:Quote:

Sulfur becomes molten at temps just over the boiling point of water and turns into the spectral blue lava you see here. Conditions in the crater aren’t actually hot enough for the sulfur to self-combust — it turns molten when miners drop their torches.

If you’ve ever been around a hot spring, you can only imagine the smell. Grunewald wore a gas mask for his shots (and threw away his clothes afterward), while few of the miners had any such protection. And should you ever find yourself there, careful where you step — that lake is sulfuric acid.

The photos of the injury clearly show a minor fingertip amputation without damage to any underlying bone, tendon or muscle. These injuries are common and almost always heal very well with basic woundcare techniques, with or without 'powder'. The old man was grossly exaggerating as to how much finger was chopped off.

It's Saturday night and I'm not doing shit but clicking around youtube. This is one of the coolest animal videos I've ever seen. A praying mantis boxing a cat, and the praying mantis stands his ground and wins.

The cat's heart wasn't really in the fight though. He was just messing around for giggles.

I digged the mantis' body language though, it was like he was saying, "Come at me bro!"
