Paying bills at home while being abroad?

I have all my mail going to a family members house. If something comes in that can't be paid online, like vehicle taxes, I do a bank transfer, then they'll write check and send it off. Make sure you set all this up before leaving. I've disappeared for up to a year at a time. Also, other shit comes in that someone needs to see, like a jury duty notice.

wh ocares , if yuo are not in country they cant make you do jury duty.
what i do, is i call all my credit cards and banks and tel lthe mi am out of country. i change mail so it is held at post office but al limportant things are notified i am out of country and not to send me anything. I have went paperlist for most bills and stuff. i do not keep a car , waste of money for those overseas, but i nanycase alot of banks have bill pay where you can have them send a check out. For example my local bank has this for free, every month they send a check to my landlord.my life insurance is take nfrom my bank account monthly as well. As is i ca nd oevry thing overseas. With utility bills like electricty and phone I prepay for the service or have it shut off depening on how long I will be gone. Other bills I do online pay or leave checks with my parents to take care of unexpected bills. Mortgage payment I try to always be atleast a year ahead on for incase something happens while I am abroad.

There is an internet service that allows you to forward all of your mail to them,

then they will scan it and email it to you.

Then you can send out payment. Travel with a checkbook or two. then you can mail from wherever you are (FedEx etc. ) or pay online or wire transfer.

When I'm out of the country, I usually leave checks to my mom to pay for the bills like electric and internet. You can also mail the money to someone you trust or set up auto pay with your checking account and you can transfer the money so the costs are less.

Op, no offense but you must be living in a cave or in Eastern Europe if you do not know you can pay bills online

Most payees give an option to receive bills to your email, and/or through login to their website, and/or bank billing inbox and/or automatic deduction etc. Online banking should give you easy access to countless payees. I receive and pay credit card, phone, internet, electricity, gas, condo maintenance fee (setup through automatic deduction) etc. through online banking...can't remember the last time I used a cheque. The only thing I wouldn't know the amounts when I am away is property taxes as I receive that by mail (paid through online banking) but can put on automatic deduction. If you need/want to send someone money (I think only from Canadian to Canadian, I assume same for American) you can email them money from your online banking ($1.50 or $3 fee IIRC) and with that e-mail they deposit directly into their online banking and I'm not sure but can also probably bring it to the bank if they don't have online banking.

I use Earth Class Mail for this service.
