game vs. fame- extreme example

I have a similar story from my family that I heard many times as a kid that has stuck with me. Back in the 80's a Close Relative was out with her friend at a bar in Canada (not Toronto). One of the most famous actors of the time (hint: moustache) was in town and happened to go to the same place with his small entourage. At one point a man identifying himself as Famous Actor's agent came over, handed a piece of paper with Famous Actor's number on it and said to call him. She looked at it, handed it back and said she wasn't interested. The guy left and about 30 seconds later Famous Actor came straight up to Close Relative and started berating her: "Do you know who I am?" [Yes, Famous Actor], "No women turn me down!" [I am], "I'm famous!" [And?], etc. She thought it was cowardly to send his agent over instead of talking to her himself and his rage at being rejected really repulsed her. Back in the day she was a 7 and single. Fame doesn't always trump game.

I can't have sex with your personality, and I can't put my penis in your college degree, and I can't shove my fist in your childhood dreams, so why are you sharing all this information with me?

The doens't mean speeds of 155 mph hour don't exist though.

Perhaps not, but for the purposes of that particular driver/car, it may not.

And in your cap example, that doesn't mean the ability to fill to the water line doesn't exist.

True.

Know your enemy and know yourself, find naught in fear for 100 battles. Know yourself but not your enemy, find level of loss and victory. Know thy enemy but not yourself, wallow in defeat every time.

If not believing in 10s makes your game stronger, that's fine, but I think that's an indicator that you have some inner game weaknesses - you don't believe you truly DESERVE a 10, you don't think you're capable of playing in that league. When you're playing at an elite level, you should be able to say "That's a 10...she should be with me.". Thinking of her as a 10 shouldn't hurt your game at all.

Nah. The reason guys say 10s don't exist is because, no matter how hot the girl, no matter how perfect, at some point, SOME guy has dropped her ass or is sick of her. A 10 indicates she's perfect in every way possible.

I'd go so far as to say, if I was with a girl that was a 10, I'd probably drop her ass faster than I would a 7 simply because I have enough real life experience to know that the 10 would be a giant fucking pain in the ass. I'd make sure to get plenty of pics and vids of her slobbering on my knob and my dick in her ass, and then kick her to the curb and go find a girl that knows how to treat me.

So these people make up a rating scale of things that don't exist?

That sounds well thought out

How often do Olympics divers or gymnasts get a perfect 10? You gonna tell me that rating scale isn't well thought out?

Perfection is an idea, a concept, but that ideal MUST exist to measure all other standards. Acheiving that ideal simple doesn't happen very often, if at all.

What about someone who is both a celebrity and has serious game? Many years ago when I first move to LA, I got tickets to the filming of a Bob Hope special. During the breaks, the supermodel Sheryl Tiggs would sit on his lap and I got to witness a true artist at work as he proceeded to charm the hell out of her. I also remember seeing a Howard Stern interview where Stern got Hope to admit that he got serious tail when he was younger. The celebrities today seem to be lacking in charm and class.

There is a difference between rare and "doesn't exist"

Great, but that's not the point. People are not denying the existence of tens because they feel "out of their league". They're merely denying the existence of said league altogether on the basis of a fairly indisputable, objective fact: nobody is perfect.

On a subjective level, a 10 can exist (read: perfection to the individual guy in question due to his affinity for her particular look, style, mannerisms, etc, usually built over time). Objectively, a 10 is impossible. Such a woman would need to be perfection to all men at all times, flawless in every way, the hottest woman to ALL men at any given moment.
Some women come relatively close to this, but it is an impossible standard to actually meet. Hence, no 10s.

You imply the existence of some objective league or "elite level" of "10s", suggest that it should be acknowledged, and that a failure to do so implies weakness/insecurity. We're merely here to tell you that said league does not exist objectively because there are no objective 10s-true perfection can only exist in the subjective mind (and even then I'd argue its permanence).

______________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Pretty obvious it's impermanent - only the best of the best in their best year(s) get it - like a gymnast scoring a perfect 10.

Some real Platos' cave stuff you're bringing up here, but there is no "objective" way to measure this to begin with...after all, it's describing a relationship between two people (how attractive one is to the other) which is by it's very nature subjective.

"A 10 is just a nine that has all your favorite stuff".

That is probably the best way to describe it.

Yep. What is generally considered a 9 is the genetic peak, and they are rare but not that rare. They come in all shapes and sizes, and they still have flaws.

Dr Johnson rumbles with the RawGod. And lives to regret it.
