everyone hates reddit now. The marshals are mustering their troops across the wide plains of the interwebs. Reddit is almost universally despised.

It's incredible how in over 25 years the internet hasn't changed much, but for the continual theme of morons ultimately ruining every good thing. reddit is just the latest incarnation of usenet, nothing more. It was interesting and worked well for a while, but then got overrun with morons for lack of exclusivity. Same deal with both. Much as facebook is almost a shittier version of talkd & irc, which were up and running in the 80s. What do web forums really provide that the mailing list "forums" of old and usenet didn't?
Usenet got ruined by spam and idiots circa 1997, maybe 96. Prior to that millionaires and global expert phds regularly offered solid responses. Seriously, the old usenet archives on certain subjects are better than college lectures. Six years ago reddit was actually pretty cool, believe it or not. If you're in technical/scientific disciplines it's still actually the case that you'll see quality posts by "famous" (highly relative term) dudes in certain of the sub-reddits. But it's barely anymore worth digging through the morons.
Allow me to revise my point about *nothing* having changed on the internet, because one thing did change: the mass participation of women. I can't think of a single damn thing today that didn't exist on the internet in the mid 90s in more-or-less equivalent form. The main thing that has changed is that fucks like zuckerberg figured out how to get rich off status whoring, which barely exists absent women. The meaty discussions back in the day happened either on private invite-only email lists, or in practical anonymity on usenet. Posturing and self-promotion were zero compared to now, because: a) no women b) no advertising dollars (because no women, and almost all ads are for women)
BTW I'm not quite an old fart. Late 20s. Just been online since the 90s.

Just saw a thread where a bunch of betas/omegas are pontificating on how a size 12+ woman isn't fat.
My last bang was size 00. Victoria Beckham shit.
Reddit makes me sad

Just joined that subreddit now just hope it does not become too big as that usually means a decrease in insightful posts and comments in favour for cheap images and puns.
