The forum is getting its own VPS account on a different server. This means that the blog, a huge resource hog, will no longer slow down the forum. It also means that it shouldn't happen again that both sites will be down at the same time.

The move will start on Friday morning (August 10). You will see a red announcement at the top of the forum to know that the move is in progress. During that time...

1. The forum will be read-only. You can read existing threads but you can't reply or start new threads.

2. Do not send any PMs while the red announcement is visible.. If you do, they will be lost forever once the move is complete.

When the move is finished, and your ISP has updated the new DNS settings, the red announcement will change to green and you can resume posting and sending messages.

I moved the forum last year and it was functioning for most of you within 24 hours. The move is inconvenient but I want to be proactive and improve the hosting situation while things are still running smoothly.

The forum has been moved. Everything seems to be working on my end.

So the forum seems to be blazing fast right now. Pages are being served just about instantly with no delay.

Encountering weird issues where, after flushing the DNS, I was on the new server for a while and then fell back onto the old one for no reason. Flushed my DNS several times, cleared caches, and still nothing. It also wasn't letting me 'Like' posts for a while (giving me the error below), but now it is. Maybe it's just the plumbing getting cleared out.

Yeah sometimes there is a fallback to the old settings due to cache issues.

If you're still experiencing that on Sunday let me know.

Yeah, it just happened to me again. I was on the new on just fine and got kicked back out and couldn't get back in. I had to do some manual changes and it's working for now. It'll probably stay weird like this for a little while.

Late post..but Im having server problems.
On my phone..i still get the old version of the forum for a period of time(old server)..then it will switch back to the current server after half an hour or so.

Ive deleted my phones browsers cache and cookies,but it still happens
