A lot of my friends think it's a big deal to get a girl's phone number and can understand this but why do you get a phone number in the first place? You get a phone number to communicate with the girl so you can see her again. Just like an email address or facebook name, it’s just a means of contacting her. You may be tempted to think that it’s an indicator of significant interest on her part and, unfortunately, you would be wrong. A significant indicator of interest on her part would be when she shows up for a date.

Many a times a girl will simply give you her phone number because it’s easier for her to do that than to just say no. She knows she can always not answer your calls or texts later and you will then get the "hint". Or girls will just give out their number to have a bunch of admirers around. They have no interesting in dating these guys, they just want the attention. Girls love attention and talking and texting. If she’s bored some night she can always text one of these guys and expect some attention and someone to talk to.

So, when does a phone number have high value? The value of a phone number is directly proportional to a girl’s investment in her interaction with you. If a girl spends 5 minutes talking to you and gives you her phone number what is her investment in you? practically nothing! A number obtained under these circumstances means there is a high percentage that the girl will flake on you when you try to actually setup a date. Now, if she spends an hour or more with you that is a much greater investment on her part and the likelihood that she will respond when you call or text her will be far greater.

By all means do get her phone number but realize that it’s value is relative to her investment in you up to that point. In the grand scheme of things, getting her phone number is the easy part. What comes after is the difficult part: getting to see her again. I get all happy thinking I am big shit by doing a contact close in a few minutes. Don't make this mistake. Push the interaction as far as possible, always. And don't break the cardinal rule: always, always leave her wanting more! You just can't do that in 5 minutes...

In my experience, on average a phone number is worth between 1/10-1/15 of a bang (about 1 out of every 10-15 phone numbers I've gotten has eventually resulted in a notch). However, I can usually tell right away which girls I get numbers from are going to want to meet up again and which ones aren't based on my perception of the girl's interest level (although I've definitely been surprised, which is why I still get the number even if I don't think she'll agree to a date).

I think the point about a girl's level of investment is spot on, but I'd add that this doesn't necessarily translate directly into the amount of time you spend with her. It depends on other factors too like the quality of your game and often just what her first impression of you was. Obviously if you spend more time with her you may have a greater opportunity to make the interaction memorable in her eyes, but it's not an ironclad rule.

Really? I don't ask for girl's numbers anymore. If they give it to me, I know my chance for a bang is much higher. I go for the instabang if I'm out at night, so asking for numbers is useless. I have little interest in taking new girls out on dates anymore and realize this is not the standard player approach but it's help me minimize flakes, dead ends, and wasted time/money.

I agree. It's not exactly the amount of time. It's more about how you leave her feeling. What kind of emotional hit she got from meeting you.

Very very true, numbers relatively mean nothing more than additional contact-which is good and bad. Bad as has been stated, but also good but it creates that next bridge/link to getting success with her (whatever you consider that to be). Also true that it relatively means nothing, because now you have to do the hard part which is getting her to meet up with you. Obviously, if you get it quickly and shes kinda ehhh about you-it will be much harder to do so. If you're vibing well though and getting obvious signs of interest-it will be easier and better. The number means nothing compared to the quality of your interaction(s).

The phone number can be wasted ink and paper or it can be the direct line to your next piece of pussy. It all depends how you got that phone number. Did she mention "exchanging numbers" first? Did she give it to you with you having to ask for it? Did she ask for yours?

These are probably some good numbers.

Was she actively involved in the conversation? Asking you questions? Talking about seeing you again? Those are probably good numbers.

Did she just give you a bunch of one word answers? Did she barely speak during the interaction? Did you just run up to her and say..."hey, my names joey, i thought you were cute, can i get your number?

These numbers are garbage.

With enough practice, you can pretty much tell which numbers will lead to dates and which ones are garbage literally as you are putting them in your phone.

There is nothing wrong with collecting alot of numbers because that means that you are out approaching and practicing. Just remember that the goal of each interaction should not be a phone number. The goal should be to a genuine connection with the girl. A shared emotional experience. She has to feel you. Feel your masculine energy and power.
