Measure your chest, across your nipples all the way around your back, flat of course. Measure your waist just above your hip bone.

Roughly your jacket size say 44R and a waist (pants size) of 30 inches would be a 14" drop.

It's not prefect because it depends on your frame and other factors. Bigger dudes have to work on their waist more than chest, switches for natural skinny guys.

Alternatively: measure your wrist and type in Greco roman ideal body calculator in google. Shave off an inch or so off all measurements that seem extreme for you and that's your fitness goal. If you can't see your abs without flexing your body fat % is still too high.

Getting stared at is the bare minimum to say you have a nice body, 90%+ people won't get there. Top 10% in almost any activity is getting laid. Have not met a single in shape guy who has not seen benefits, most quit to early or look flabby. Fuck that. Girls should ask you the following questions:

"what are you like 2% body fat like skim milk?"
"oh my god I wasn't expecting your body to be so firm"
(lift her up with one arm) "oh my you're so strong!" (throw her in the air like a toy)
"why do you even wear a shirt?"

Fat girls and out of shape guys
"eww you're so conceited"
"wow you must really want attention"
"I like my guys with some fat on them" (yes because you are fat)
"you must be insecure"

Never will you meet a man who comes home and says "Damn so mad that I Worked out today!"

Who cares about this guy, honestly never heard of him before D&P article. Point is if you've never been in shape you're probably just Hating.

Being average is womanly.

The rule of being able to see your abs without flexing is a good rule. I am not there yet although I can obviously see them pretty well while flexing.

Do you have some other tips and tricks to measure your body fat? Things like "if you can pinch fat in [location] or "if you can roll fat in [area] while bending over" or something like that? I would love to have ways to eyeball my body fat percentage with tricks like that because in the past I have let pounds creep up on me without really noticing as much as I should

A few simple tricks. Depending on how serious you are taking weight lifting. During your 6 week cutting phase you should absolutely see your abs without flexing. That's your best measure for body fat visually. Generally men will gain fat below the belly button and retain there the most, so if you have your lower abs ripped as well now you're talking "I want to fuck this guy" looks from women. Generally when you get to that level the girl wakes up and immediately assumes you're never calling her again.

4-6 weeks muscular encdurance (20 reps lower weight slow lift, count to 5 as you lower the bar to your chest as an example)
4-6 weeks build phase (heavy protein intake and calories, large weights lower reps speed less important, for must be on point)
4-6 weeks cutting, faster reps dependent on genetics and skillet, you may crank out up to 10 reps

Basically as you can guess during the 4-6 gain cycle you can't see your abs and you rarely get eye fucked by women unless you are already a big dude in long sleeve t-shirts. taking off your shirt has no effect, during the other cycles you can take off your shirt and get eye fucked fast. Other simple tests include arm fat, there should be 0 fat practically on your triceps, the fat will be between bicep and shoulder if anywhere, this is where during the cutting phase it goes away. In terms of muscle growth your shoulders should protrude out and dip into your arm, just look at Dwight Howard for an extreme example. When you flex your biceps in a long- sleeve you should still be able to see the peak to it, shit even in a nice suit you can see the peak.

Glad you're ignoring all the hate in muscle dude game. If Gio ends up reading this I literally just fucked that 19 y/o from the mall. Want to know what she said when we finished up?Don't put your shirt on I want it off until I leave in an hour

Guess that makes me a gay fanboy.

Oh one extra rule. Suck in your stomach do not flex it then pinch around to measure body fat. Flexing your abs is incorrect lifting. You want to suck in your stomach to stabilize your spine, also gives you a better way to measure the body fat. If you are "flexing" you should only be able to pinch skin, otherwise you're still not there yet. Under 1/2 inch or so when sucked in. This one is harder and more accurate. The skin pinch on flexing abs is better for general good body fat %. Next thing you know the new hate comment is going to be so womanly they call you "anorexic". Ha!

I have always thought of cutting and bulking cycles as quite rediculous personally, maintaining a lean body with abdominal definition is a far smarter way to train your body. Training heavy with low reps is the smartest way to keep a ripped body and doing a moderate amount of cardio. Sprinting and cycling or various Crossfit type circuits are really good cardio. Of course I am talking about if you are already in descent shape. Spiderman like forearms are also a good indication of how ripped you are.

Awesome. I would love to find online a picture slideshow that shows the step by step progression from somewhat out of shape to being able to see abs without flexing but I have quite a bit more body fat percentage to go for sure.

I thought the point of the forum is to post up topics to improve life/game.

I don't know how discussing a man's sexual orientation, a dead man, helps us get a better looking body.

Then again I'm socially inept.

Prefer focusing on what can be learned from someone like zyzz. Get in shape, be audacious. Or sit there and live a boring ass life, the choice is ours.

I dont have time for negative commentary that adds no value

So if I see it I'll comment on it and attempt to turn it into a positive. Ex: sounds like bacan is somewhat more motivated to get in shape. At least this thread added a positve to his life. Again. I am a retard.

Maybe discussing a dead man's sexual orientation gives us results? If so how? Please explain. Wasted time is pissing money down the drain

@ magicbullets: you should absolutely get positive comments regarding veins. Particularly when drinking. It's another common positive comment made by bitches.

@bacan: make your own slide show. Every 6 weeks take a photo and you'll track the improvement.

Finally, while I agree the guy kind of looked like a "clown" and jr summed it up nicely saying he had no doubt the guy could "pull mad ass".... The obvious correct answer is infront of you. Get in shape

If I am perceived as "homo" for being in shape but I pull "mad ass" because of it. Whose winning that war?

Saying fitness is a waste of time has no value. You can't even take money with you if you're dead.

You quoted my post, but I don't really understand what it is that I've said that you're reacting to. Who said that you were gay for caring about your body? I made a comment about Zyzz, based on Kosko's observation. The dude happens to remind me of some dudes I've known who were closeted. That's about all I said. I don't know why you would interpret that as having anything to do with you. Did someone say that anyone with a six pack must be a homo? Maybe you're not reacting to me, though.

As for the whole negative vs. positive thing, again who's being negative? The OP asked what people's opinions of this dude are. I gave mine. I don't get the appeal. He's got a great body, awesome. That doesn't do anything for me. The running around, making up catch phrases, promoting yourself on YouTube, that doesn't do anything for me. I find it very feminine. And I also think that the large majority of the dudes who jock this guy (and no, that's not a knock at anyone on this forum) are more living vicariously through him than using him as motivation.

If other people like Zyzz, cool. If he motivates other people to get into the gym and improve themselves, awesome. The less people sitting around eating Cheetos, playing video games and getting fat, the better off our society will be. I have no issue with fitness what's so ever. It's one of the best investments that any man can ever make.

You make it sound like if I don't tell you how awesome you are, then I'm "hating." I don't really understand that mentality. When I came up, dudes clowned on each other constantly. If one of my friends was wearing a slightly suspect shirt, I might say something like, "nice shirt. Do they sell men's clothes at the store you got that?" That's not "hating" on his shirt, that's just dudes giving each other grief. Likewise, when I say that Zyzz's hair looks like Unfrozen Caveman Lawyer, that's just jokes.

No reaction to your post. You simpy said he was ripped and likely could pull.

So the point is being ripped = can pull.

That's it. I agree his "look" can be seen as homo. But that adds no value, what does add value is acknowledging that being in peak physical fitness helps.

I don't care about people taking jabs at me whatevs. This is a forum to help people improve their lives. We can jab at each other all day but I don't see how that adds value to anything besides waste time.

Clown around enough at work as it is.

I have admitted multiple times I've had worse shit happen to me, drinks in face, being denigrated by peers etc etc. I could care less if a guy over the Internet thinks I'm "lame", I do care if they are trying to drag down a conversation into a pissing match over the sexuality of some dude. Because that adds no value.

Add something positive or shut the fuck up and leave is how we should all view life. You're not going to see me post "xyz is gay" or "xyz sucks" or "Americans suck" because if I hate it so much I will change it. Eg: if you hate American girls, go get on a plane. Hate your job get a new one. Make changes.

It's called bitching for a reason... It's for bitches.

So to conclude, if it's just "throw up opinions on this dead man thread". Should be in the EE section. Posted in lifestyle so I assume this is supposed to refer to "muscle dude lifestyle".

I have been wrong many times so if it's really just about discussing... a dead man. I'll stop posting on this, since it's a waste of time. A colossal one.

OK, now I'm really confused. Are you Zyzz? I looked back through the thread and all I saw were a bunch of people talking about that guy. Maybe I missed someone saying something about you?

As for what thread this should be in, ask the OP. People have different opinions. We don't have to agree on everything. Disagreement is not a personal affront.

Roosh asked us to be beta on the forum, so I will be. If you took anything I said to be about you, or about the fitness lifestyle in general, I apologize. Everything that I've said is just my opinion about this one dude. I'm not trying to insinuate anything about anybody else.

What? Must be lost in translation. You said in the previous post "back when I came up we took jabs at each other" so I responded to that with. I dont care, I can take jabs whatevs.

Again, the thread derailed to arguing about this guys sex life. I don't see value in it so I tried to again re-rail the thread to talking about what positive things we can learn:

1. Get ripped
2. Be good at marketing
3. Be audacious

This applies to all threads in the lifestyle section. If it was in everything else and was surrounding just "yes or no banter, cool or not cool" I wouldn't even post. It's a waste of time.

I have already stated before D&P I didn't even know who the fuck he was. Now that I do I got the 3 positive takeaways above.

What positive takeaways did you get? Sounds like at least one, get ripped to get bitches. The rest of his personality you didn't like. That's fine.

All that has nothing to do with arguing about being gay "fanboys". If we want to get into a homophobic argument i will happily link up many studies that prove homophobic people tend to be more likely than not closet homosexuals. But that has nothing to do with this thread.

I don't like wasting time reading useless shit.

So to be very direct what I am saying is you are not a "gay fanboy" if you want to look like that guy. It's just stupid and trollish and why I have addressed it in the 3 times Houston has decided to "add value" saying the same useless tag line.

If you want to criticize great, but make it useful. Criticism and bitching are not the same.

In my opinion, losing bodyfat and getting abs is very simple and easy. Just change what you put in your mouth. No bullshit fat, no bullshit sugar, and no bullshit carbs. Lots of clean protein and lots of fruits and vegetables. Limit your alcohol. Its actually quite simple, if you have the discipline and the desire.

Her are some threads about it...

Since it was posted in lifestyle, assumption was lifestyle takeaways from this guy.

1. Get ripped
2. Learn how to be good at marketing (catch phrases like "you jelly", "come at me bro", "you mirin"
3. Who gives a fuck attitude
4. You only live once

Instead it got derailed multiple times. Takes a lot to make me annoyed and the derailment fucked the thread.

To be honest, the second category mentioned is even more important. If you suck at marketing you can't make money. No doubt there are some shredded guys who don't make shit and look similar. Mike had a post on some muscle dude who won 10gs that's a smart move. This guy made a lifestyle off you tube videos.

Shit. Think about the cool people we all know I will bet money you use some of their repeated phrases. Or at least can recognize them.

Looks, Money, Girls... Wtf else is there to want in life?

No, not really, Every weight lifting exercise you do should engage your stomach muscles. So, there is really not a need to work the stomach with weights.

A six pack is more directly related to A LACK OF FAT AROUND YOUR BELLY rather then your stomach muscles being big.

Diet creates a six pack more so then weights.

I do these for abs:

How real is the phenomenon that the body gets used to calorie deficits and drops your metabolism after you diet for a while?

The body adjusts and gets used to everything. You constantly have to surprise and shock your body. When you start to plateau, mix up your workouts, mix up your diet. I change my entire routine every 2-3 months.

But, to answer your question more directly, burning more calories with exercise while eating fewer calories is a good basic rule of thumb. However, some people mistake this for under eating. You can eat, just eat clean. And, eat when the sun is up, limit your eating at night.

FOCUS ON HIGH QUALITY, NUTRIENT RICH, AND DENSE CALORIES!!

You don't have to starve yourself, you just have to eat high quality food! And, avoid bullshit foods.

When your body starts getting used to something, make a change!

You lost 5 days worth of progress. But thats ok, 5 bad days in 6 weeks in actually pretty good. I usually allow myself one bad day a week.

If you can have 6 good weeks and then only 5 bad days you will be fine. Allow yourself to cheat and eat bad occasionally, just don't get back into a bad lifestyle.

Even the great anti-aging expert Steve Nash says he eats great 90% of the time and allows himself to be bad 10% of the time. You're fine!

Yeah I've been doing about 1-2 bad days a week for the past 6 weeks or so. Hopefully I had some sort of maintenance and did not just pile weight on. I'm not one of those people who can look in the mirror and know that I've gained 2 lbs.

I think I'll be doing just a regular calorie reduction diet for a while with an emphasis on not eating too many carbs. Maybe go for 1,800 calories a day -- currently around 165 lbs and maybe 13% body fat
