Antidepressant Use Rises 400%, White Women Top Lists

One in ten—9.8%!—white women over 12 take antidepressants.

Maybe white women are overindulged and overmedicated. Maybe they feel stress trying to be good daughters, mothers, partners, and having careers. Despite being "liberated" and having many sexual and career options, American women are not happy.

Unfortunately these drugs dampen sexual arousal or climax. No wonder men avoid them.

Women are the most medicated animals on earth. Even more so then a female cow whom is pumped full of hormones and chemicals from youth.

These rates will continue to rise. The more females keep abandoning their natural roles and taking on male traits and roles they will plunge more and more into the mental abyss. Consumer culture shames them and forces them to buy non-sense to conform to something, while feminism shames them for being well.. feminine. They pump them selves with drugs to ease the shame that is a burden on their minds.

SSRI's are no joke. I was stupid and took them for a few months back when I was younger I couldn't get a boner and was a schhlub for the majority of my time on them. Yes I was never "sad" but my quality of life felt so fake I would of rather death with the pain and issues cold turkey and still feel real.

I'm a local dispensary for this drug and can testify to its miraculous and immediate results.

I don't think that it's so much that women are crazier as much as it is that they are told they should try to (not have to) carry the burdens that men traditionally have. I'm sure most men deal with the same pressures that these women do, they just gnash their teeth and try to plow through the brick wall (or fall through the glass floor). It's what's expected of us and nobody cares if we cry about it, so we don't.

How many women were given the advice my father gave me in high school?: The world don't give a shit.

Since women are the emotional gender and the world doesn't give a shit. They pay some jerk off that read some books to listen to their "problems" then give them some drugs that numb them.

I was thinking about it, and I realized I've fucked a shit-ton of white girls on "meds" (anti-depressants)--and those are just the ones who actually told me. Three of them started them while we were chilling. A couple started them after we were done, but told me about it later. Another one stopped, only to resume later. We were together before, during, and after the hiatus (she was an LTR). Still another one was "trying really hard not to be on meds," but was clearly struggling. I'm sure it's only a matter of time.

I thought I was just a magnet for these broads. It turns out it's just the norm.

Yeah I had a girl once bust out "I need to take my antidepressants" on a first date. These lizards aren't actually depressed they just have a boring life so they medicate. (I think chad had a post about this on his old blog). Another way in which weak people (women) cop out. These things have horrible side effects. I used to bang a girl. She started taking antidepressants a few months in to banging. She dried up and was no longer capable of orgasm. Making her more depressed.

On a serious note, my Mum was diagnosed with post-natal depression after I was born. She took meds for a month and stopped. She later told me she stopped because she felt like she had a chemically forced smile stuck on her face, but that she still felt awful inside. Being down to earth and pragmatic as women can be she stopped and got on with her life, now she's fine.

9.8% REALLY?

In my own experience, hearing what I've heard, seeing what I've seen...push that number up to 30.

I don't think I know a single man on antidepressants because men do it like men; you depressed? Get drunk, hit some bongs, do a few lines, go fuck some chicks. Fact is nothing, for either sex, is as good as releasing the endorphins as a good screw.

One of the main reasons that women take "meds" more often than men is that men are ashamed to admit they need help, and can be judged for it.

I think you should go out and meet more people, or perhaps read about realities different from your own.

Lots of people take anti depressants that shouldn't. There are several reasons for this - including overprescribing by family doctors without necessary experience, marketing efforts by the Pharm companies, and the refusal of insurance companies to pay for talk therapy.

However, none of this means that the right medication doesn't offer significant benefits for those with moderate to severe persistent clinical depression.

I resisted treatment for years because I had an incomplete understanding of depression, and was driven by a lot of the fear and ignorance about medication that is commonplace.

The result were 4 separate and increasingly severe episodes of clinical depression.
Eventually I paid to see a highly qualified doctor who does hour long visits with his patients, was on my same level intellectually, and was able to carefully find the right medication and the right dose, and I have little to no side effects. I doubt I would be alive right now without it.

And before someone suggests alternative therapies or pussy, know that during that decade of depression, I did everything you could think of from drug use/abuse to intense exercise to travel to different work, etc.

Also, when someone (like me) is really depressed, you become essentially unable to experience pleasure.
This is one way I would explain it: the idea of banging Brazilian twins on a beautiful beach after you had a bottle of white wine and a dozen oysters will seem uninteresting because the world is a dark place and nothing makes any difference anyway and pleasure is fleeting and we are born to die (followed by repetitive thoughts ad nauseum).
