What's a possible new job for me?

I've learn a lot from the blog and the forum, so I figure posting for suugestions about this can't hurt.
I'm "between jobs" right now, having just finished a stint in upscale hotels (waiter/bartender/concierge team specifically)
prior to this, i was a sales rep in a field with decent sized market, selling payment solutions.
I have recognized qualifications in marketing and project management, and finished a degree in humanities (yes, i know, i know, but i was able to be in wor more often than not) in 2007.
I'm also pretty clueless about what to do in terms of living and career. Did look at career counselling/coaching but don't have that kind of money to drop right now.
Nobody can make a scientific assessment just by reading this, obv., but could anyone make suggestions?

It sounds like you are asking for career guidance.

Since you have a degree, I would suggest getting in touch with the career guidance people at the institution you graduated from. Be sure to mention up front you are an alumni. As an alumni, most institutions will offer free help and guidance, the same they would offer students. Not only that, but many institutions have access to the more expensive personality tests and career planning tests, so you can do those through your old institution for free. If you stay far away from your institution and can't visit them directly, try to arrange doing the tests via email or fax. You can probably get a personality and career preference test done this way, and probably have some skype/person-to-person sessions with the career counsellor. That should give you some ideas.

I personally think that choosing a career is over-rated, what matters is the enthusiasm you pour into the career you find yourself in. It is possible to rise to the top in any field. At your juncture I'd think that it is more important for you to identify who you want to work for rather than what work to do. Once you know what organisations you want to work for you can repackage your experience and sell yourself to those organisations. To do that, research what organisations are around in the area you live in, decide which of them you are willing to work for, then call their switchboard, get put through to their hiring manager, schedule an appointment to find out what potential positions they have for your skills. If they have a position and the hiring manager is impressed with you, they will offer you a job.

You have a decent skill-set and you can leverage your degree for the alumni benefits. Between the two I think you'll do fine. Good luck!

Search the job sites using your degree as the search term instead of looking for specific job titles.

Try http://www.indeed.com It's like google for job searches.
