Toothpicks- Never tried this one, but grabbing a handful and throwing them at the attackers face like ninja spikes would be fun at least. If you use this one let me know how it worked out.
Be careful. we're going to have newbies attacking guys with karate chops and toothpicks after reading this thread.

The thing about being hit with a pool Que is that is does actually hurt loads more than you think it will given how light they are but in general it won't stop people coming at you. A better use is to wedge the end in a pocket and push down to snap the end off when you think the drama is starting. Staring at the end of a sharp bit of wood will make most people think twice. All of it is kind of guesswork though in general bottles are the easiest weapon to find and really to stop somone you have to smash it over their head then stab them in the face a few times, in England they send you to prison for this as the judges hate it even if its self defense and you are fighting 4 people. I can remember when I was about 15 and 2 if us were fighting about 7 guys I tried a few things that diddn't work but once they saw me trying to bury my fingets in some guys eye socket they all kind of cooled off pretty quick and left us alone. 'Whatever happens fight dirty, punch, eye gauge, kick to the nuts and bite as even if you get a beating no cunt wants to fight you again' I was told this when I was about 12 years old and its probably the best advice I was given as a child.

I don't think that a toothpick has enough mass to function as a thrown weapon, no matter how strong you throw it! Maybe as a distraction, but that would work with any kind of small, numerous objects.

p.s. that Felony Fights thing was educational
