Probably they sprayed these guys: Black-clad protesters break windows on the old Federal Courthouse as a May Day rally turns violent on Tuesday, May 1, 2012 in downtown Seattle.



But there were lots of black-clad looters everywhere in Seattle May 1st.

Apparently the Rain City Superhero Movement been around a while and been in the press before. The leader is a MMA fighter, and has used pepperspray in other previous alterations, including having drunk women assault him with their high heeled shoes.

Note that the video both shows him getting pepper bombed and the black bloc throwing some sort of firebomb or flashbomb at the courthouse trying to set it on fire.

He's already been shot, stabbed, and had his nose broken. Only recently has he gotten smart and started wearing an iPhone on his chest to record everything. His identity is public. It's not like he's hiding behind a mask.

According to wikipedia, his costume includes a Dragon Skin bulletproof vest and stab plating.

Most of what he's doing isn't superhero level stuff. It's more "bouncer dealing with intoxicated drunks after they get kicked out of a bar" level.

And when someone's getting a beat down with a stick like below, most people's tendency isn't going to be trading off pepperspraying the assailant in the face and then hoping the the FBI tracks him down after the beating. Most people would be stomping the assailant's head into the ground and returning the stick rectally. These guys show a lot of restraint.
