Though, as you can see above, I agree with the consensus here (especially in the general sense with alimony), the Dog Whisperer's case is slightly different. I used to watch this show religiously (it helped my game big-time), and eventually got to respect the guy enough to read his story. His wife, Ilusion, actually helped him quite a bit in building the business. She did a lot of day-to-day shit and, I want to say, even did a lot of work on the production of the TV show.
Even though that may not be worth the dollar amounts mentioned here, this isn't your typical stay-at-home, open-your-legs, gain weight American-wife agenda.
I didn't know that, and it does change the calculation somewhat, but I would still argue that the appropriate amount of compensation would be the opportunity cost of hiring someone to do whatever it is she did. I doubt that a regular worker with a similar level of involvement in his business would be making 23K a month at this point. She's still getting money she didn't earn solely by virtue of the fact that Cesar's ass was dumb enough to sign a marriage contract in America.
