Reading up on game, it made me realize that while I think Game isn't as important as some here believe, I think the real issue stems from Cold Approach. I feel like cold approach game is limited. The effort is simply not worth it especially if you aren't attractive. The ratio of single men to women makes it unsuitable. The real reason cold approach is rigged is because the level of effort to get the most attractive women is exponentially higher as you move up the ladder. With cold approach, the highest you will get is an occasional 7 with rare 8's (good luck getting a 9 with cold approach). I mean Roosh might be in the top 10 of the World in game, yet he still can't translate that to anything higher than a 7 in a country where the ratios are favorable. To be successful, you need status aka social circle game. High level women are not comfortable going out of their comfort zone. Why would they date an outsider when they can get a rich guy they are comfortable with?

I think its akin to employment game. Applying to places online is a limited game. You will never get high level jobs relying on that. Networking (Social circle game of employment) is how you get high level jobs. You won't see a high level job listed online so the only to get one is to know somebody

Is the effort of approaching 1,000+ girls just to be able to have enough game to get girls at a 1/40 rate worth it when you can work on building a social circle at 1/2 the effort that pays you dividends all the time?

Most girls call guys they are attracted to "handsome," but they often don't understand what is they like about him (mostly good game). I've noticed this because I'm not the most handsome guy in the world, but I've been getting a lot of comments on my looks as my game has been improving.

Not only does your post smack of typical Game denialism (you have to be rich or handsome etc.), but Pdog just posted this, so I think your conclusion might not be based in reality:

There's a guy out there called DistantLight, he briefly made an account here to drop a datasheet. He lives in Queens and is broke as shit but pulls mad fly girls because he only ever goes to high quality venues. In his own words "there is no one less than an 8 in the club" He has a few dope videos on Youtube that you need the direct link to see, confirming the quality, a lot of them are fashion girls as well.

Back when he wasn't on the list and not known by the bouncers and ballers he would basically mass text every girl he'd met from daygame or through other people to meet up with him in the Meatpacking District. They never shot him down when he rolled in with four girls, he kept doing this till he either became a regular or had met the right dudes who would always get him in.

His mindset is insane. Once he decided he wanted to frequent the most exclusive venues with the toughest doors in the world he did everything humanly possible to do so, and succeeded. He's got a lot of really interesting insights on spirituality as well. He's a well put together dude.

You kind of made my point. Cold approach wasn't getting him laid. It was social status that got him laid. It was his savvy to create social status. He wasn't banging those 8's out on the streets so he had to create a system to get into the high end clubs. Just being at the high end club indicates status.

But he wasn't banging those girls from his game, he banged them from status like having 4 girls around him or entering a high end club. You can use game and cold approach to aid you, but you need more than that to bang 7-9's, you need the ability to connect social game with your regular game

Well Skyhigh and soup, in your post you can see that DistantLight did build a social circle/social proof (through cold approach) and used it to get in the highest end clubs with the hottest girls. So his social circle game has components of cold approach in it.

Where do you live skyhigh? I think in some situations there's a point of diminishing returns when it comes to cold approach, meaning that when it comes to 9s the effort you need to put into gaming them via cold approach is simply not worth it cause it's so hit and miss, so if you want 9s they can be had easier via other means.

For example when I lived in Singapore, the girls were pretty ugly so 8s and 9s were quite rare, plus they had that stuck up bitchy attitude. Granted I was just introduced to game then, but cold approach was a serious chore with results much harder to come by there (did mostly daygame in Orchard). In Bangkok, the hot girls are so much more plentiful and are approachable and friendly.

So it's really a cost/benefit analysis thing - at what point do I receive more benefit from putting my effort into building a lifestyle that attracts girls rather than go out 5 days a week and approach like a mad dog, but it only comes to play later down the road, when you're dealing with the hotter girls, and assumes you have your basics down.

However, I'm firm believer in cold approach as a fundamental skill set, as it builds courage, gets you used to rejection again and again. You'll be more on the edge etc. Plus, it's the best way to practice, as you won't be seeing them again so the girls can't ruin your reputation with stories of your failed attempts.
