Annoying BETA Male characters on TV

Funny i was just thinking about starting a thread on this yesterday when i saw the movie Spiderman 3 again. I had seen it the last time before i left home and went around the world and was introduced to game and became somewhat of a playa.
Nowadays i can barely watch anything on tv too ( although i just downloaded all seasons of Married with children and watch a few episodes a day, its still my favorite show)

That Peter Parker character nearly made me nauseous with his uber beta behavior. Especially the constant whining and begging for Mary Jane. At one point i just fast forwarded through the "romantic" scenes just to see the action scenes. The part where his grandmother tells him he's such a good boy and he should ask Mary Jane for marriage almost made me puke.

It clearly shows how i've grown from beta to alpha, i used to watch movies like this and rom-com's and not notice how uber unrealistic the love scenes are. Its this kind of crap that feeds the princess complex in most girls and keeps the beta guys beta.

My new book Famles - Fables and Fairytales for Men is out now on Amazon.

Chuck Bartowski was definitely a beta but he ended up with Yvonne Strahovski on the show. In real life, he dated Caitlin Crosby.

King of Queens is funny because he calls her out on her BS every once in a while. There is never a power struggle there because the woman does nice things for Doug, the husband, all the time. The biggest pussy whipped husband on the planet is Ray Romano, I cannot believe he's not getting as many mentions. He is everything Don Draper is not.
A side note, my aunt who publicly humiliates my uncle loves LOVES that show. No surprise there.

No joke.

Also, I banged a girl who did make-up for that show. She said the principal cast that she worked with were "charmers."

Funny thing about Ross though, he's a Doctor with a PHD on the show. So he may be beta as hell but he makes some bank and has status. So is he really beta?

He is an archaeologist on the show. He fcuks with Dino bones. And if he doesn't believe he is the man, then he is BETA by nature. As long as he doesn't exist on the extreme lower end of poverty in his environment then his behaviour determines the spoils he gets.

And he was extra BETA on Friends. I always hated his character even before I knew what alpha and beta was all about. He had a lesbian wife who's female partner was telling him how to raise his son? That made me so sick, I could feel my balls curlding by the second.

I concur fully with this. I don't like Raymond's character. His voice, his total dependency on his mum - makes me sick. No man who watches and follows shows like that will ever get a decent lizard - even if they want a wife.

You smoking crack, homie! Al Bundy stood up to the fatties and bitches constantly. He just didn't cut the cord on his shitty life. He was a beat-down man, to be sure, but his man credentials were fundamentally sound:

Also, Danny Tanner from Full House always seemed beta. Bob Sagat hated playing that role.

This for sure. He pretty much breaks every single manly rule possible.
-Madly in love with girl, she rejects him multiple times, friendzoned.
-Searches for "true love" every episode.
-Went through a failed marriage and still didn't change

I think one plot had him attending a gf or wife while she gave birth to someone else's baby.

I'm trying to understand why the father as beta is so ubiquitous in sitcoms. All I could come up with:

1. Seeing a pussy whipped father makes female viewers feel empowered, and superior to that buffoonish sex known as men.
2. Seeing a pussy whipped father makes whipped males feel good that they have no balls. "Well, I guess I'm not alone - I can't be that much of a pussy if everyone else does the same thing." (What other kind of man watches this shit?)
3. Weak father figures, and the absence of power held by straight male fathers, makes homosexuals feel more liberated and unconstrained. No more judgmental men leering at them.

Plus, the only men who can call women out on their shit are invariably homosexual....

I wish we could blame women as in your point (1) but the fact is that men hold the TV remote control in most houses. So that ain't it.

(2) makes much more sense. We have met the enemy... and he is us. The man in the mirror.

And I would add...
(4) Weak father figures weaken the family, which furthers the agenda of elite conspirators trying to break down all resistance so they can control us.

Is that really true? I don't see why a guy who's already pussy whipped in every other aspect of the marriage would suddenly seize control.

What probably happens is that the guy watches sports. And when he isn't, he feels he has to compromise by watching what she wants, or at least something they'll "both" enjoy. Cue gay fare like Everybody Loves Raymond, which looks like fucking Rambo in comparison to Queer Eye for the Straight Guy. There really isn't that much genuinely manly fare left on TV, the kind of stuff that exclusively appeals to men like Dirty Harry or Spartacus.

Besides, if I were serious with a girl, I wouldn't be watching much TV with or without her. I don't need a bitch obsessing about drama between imaginary characters.

Perhaps. I thought it was just the last vestige of atavistic manhood...

Ouch. Ouch. Ouch. I do this for my non-intellectual gf sometimes.

I don't remember Al having women on the side..

I always thought it was lame that he preached all that shit but didn't have other girls. It was like a dog who's bark is worse than the bite. It seemed like the only reason he was able to say all that stuff was because he was Peg's slave (which made it excusable).

I haven't watched in a long time so maybe I'm totally off base with this..

if anyone saw sundays mad men they'll know. Pete is getting beat down in every way possible, hates his life etc. At least he has a nice/loving wife, but still the way he thinks reminds me of those betas who don't get laid because they're too good for a club full of naked 8s ready to blow him.

Lane Pryce. Stereotypical British beta. Again it causes him to be angry at life. hmmmm I see a connection here.

Actually, I don't remember him really trying? Or maybe the writers never let him win!

That's the problem I had with Al. He always seemed defeated, as if he didn't have a choice. He was somehow stuck, always dreaming about his glory days in highschool as football player. I thought it was kind of depressing, despite all the funny shit.

Al Bundy has a house on the Outer Banks of NC. My friend used to see him at the gym working out once in a while.
