couldn't find a film thread via the search function so i thought i should start one.

what were some of your favorite films this year?

i thought hugo was unbelievable. i walked into the movie thinking it was going to be some shit for children but it was magnificent.

i have yet to see the artist but i plan to see it soon. i've only heard good things about it. not so sure if i'd enjoy a silent movie though... no matter how aesthetically pleasing the movie is.

Haven't seen any newly released films so far this year, but planning on seeing The Raid and Jiro Dreams of Sushi soon.

I thought "Drive" was the best movie I saw in 2011, have yet to see a new movie this year.

The Raid is fucking awesome and sent me into a workout/fitness overdrive. It's probably one of the best martial arts films of all time.
