I wish i went overland across Bolivia, Peru and Ecuador with this money though. The Caribbean coast is cheap as hell in Colombia. You could get by on $15 a day up there.

At the time I went to Argentina it was pretty cheap , $7 on hostel room , and i was eating $2 juicy steaks every day.

For your brazil Visa , takes one day at Iguazu Falls .

Thanks for the info about Iguaza Falls. How would you have done things differently? So you would fly one way into Colombia, then just take a bus through the other countries you listed?

I landed in Buenoes Aires and made my way up. If i could change anything, i would travel only by bus or boat. No planes , once i was in Argentina. You could even get into Colombia threw the amazon from Brazil , i heard.

Kona,

Any surf spots?

What time is last call?

Food good?

I have to admit I am impressed you have been to French Guiana. There is so little data out there on it, and difficult to get to.

Maybe bust out a fresh thread on it.

Well it was about four years ago when I was there.

The Navy took me to a lot of little off the beaten path type spots like FG. I was off the coast around there and Suriname/Guyana for probably 2 months. New Amsterdam is nothing like regular Amsterdam.

I have no idea about the air travel situation to any of those spots, I came off the ship. I really don't remember last call times, but do remember a few spots in Cayenne with Spain like bar times where nobody's there untill 12:30-1am.

The food is Trinidad/Haitianish Creole type, and then the French spots. Fish wasn't so good, but like I said something had happened to their reef. Maybe the French Navy had done it. They have a good sized base north of Cayenne. Whatever the town their base was in had 1 Tijuana style Gentleman's Club. Lots of French sailors and their families live around it.

Local people looked and talked like the Haitian Creole folks too.

I didn't surf there at all, I know that. Too much cross shore slop. I did catch major swells in Guyana though. The waters clear all out that way, but was way cleaner up there. Crumblier peaks though no barrels, but still worth it. If nothing else just to get off the boat.

Aloha!

Can somebody give me some info on some of the hipper/more-artistic parts of Buenos Aires? I'm looking at apartments right now, and if I could get some help it would be much appreciated.
