Using public information to meet women is "creepy" according to media.

So, some enterprising guys released an app that sieves through public data on social sites like facebook and foursquare for publicly available information on the location of women. This information was made public by those women... however, according to media, actually paying attention to attention seekers is "creepy".

So, if a woman tells the world that she will be at X place, and I show up at that place, thats "creepy".

However, when women use all kinds of services to check up on us (credit history, property records, criminal record, etc.), that's being safe and smart. Doesn't Boost Mobile have some kind of GPS feature that shows your exact location? Anyone that willingly posts certain info deserves to get stalked. If you're that much of an attention whore that you feel the need to update the world on your every movement and activity, what this guy is doing is inevitable.

Biggest hypocrites in the world. Second what Timiteo said. Or getting into your phone/computer/email because it was "open." They were talking about it on the radio the other day and all these women justified it as "OK" since he left it unlocked.

In 50 years we're going to learn that Facebook and Foursquare were NSA/CIA covers. It's amazing how people are willing to give everything over for no benefit to themselves.

I actually never heard of Foursquare until just now, but if someone is using that, it seems to me they WANT people to know where they are. The purpose of wanting people to know where you are is so they can possibly come to meet you. If you have a smartphone, you can already access a person's Facebook profile. If you don't want to be found, don't fuck with Foursquare, and stop posting your location on FB.

Anything that doesn't feed the hamster that is a woman's desire to meet her soulmate on top of Mount Everest, on the London Underground or in the Indian cooking class she took is going to be looked upon as 'creepy'...but creepy is just one of the many words that women throw around so much that it's lost all meaning.

How do I stop people in my phone address book from being able to find me as a "Recommended friend" on facebook?? Do you mean hide your city and state on your profile? I want to make my profileas low key as possible unless I want you to be on my page.

I think the "recommended friends" thing is that FB automatically suggests people that are friends of friends. You could fix your settings so that only people you've accepted as friends can view any information on your page. I suppose you could remove your location, in terms of what city and state you live in. But what I meant was that people actually update from a mobile device posting EXACTLY where they are, like a club or restaurant, complete with uploaded pics from their phones...

This is another example of girls wanting all the benefits of attention-whoring with zero of the consequences. In this case, the consequences are no big deal either. If you don't want the attention, don't go broadcasting your shit!

This has been public knowledge for a while now:

This fits into my evolving theory that anything intended to help the average man pursue women will be dismissed as creepy, while anything intended to raise the value of the average woman will be called empowering.

The key question to your phrase is "by whom?"

And the follow-up would be "why do you care then?"

By the sorts of people who write these articles. And, to be honest, I don't. I enjoy making random observations.

That was my point. Why would you or me care of what some retarded journalist considers creepy? Like wearing boots barefeet.
