I started juicing on my very limited budget. I can't buy a juicer so I'm buying pressed natural juices. 64 oz. of real OJ costs me 8 bucks. I can't go over this long. On the other hand, I'm thinking about forgoing this diet until I'm able to spend money on things other than the OJ which is all that's available to me with my budget. My energy is shit right now and I'm hungry all the time. It makes my telemarketing job much more miserable to get through and may be hurting my performance. But if I lose a shit ton of weight (I'm a fatass right now) after all this suffering, it's more than worth it.

I personally would NOT consider fruit juices to be a means to lose weight, yet other guys may consider that.

If your goal is to lose weight, then maybe there are other aspects of your diet that must be considered, as well, including the extent to which you are eating processed foods and/or other processed beverages.

For example, if you are spending $8 a day on orange juice, then it seems plausible that you could find enough funds for a juicer or even a blender with that kind of a budget... and then to add or increase some natural foods into your diet by either juicing or blending them.

There are juicers for $50. Possibly look for used ones? You could probably find them for $20 man.

Gotta update - I came across a multitude of juices and REAL store bought smoothies for much cheaper. My juicer issue is related to more so to my housing situation at this moment - but I'm doing a 60 day fast to cleanse my system, burn off a lot of fat, and will in the future incorporate juicing into my overall lifestyle afterwards. I'm also doing this for discipline, and again my housing situation prevents me from cooking healthy meals - and 60 days from now I'll be in a much better situation.

The results here are also awesome: http://www.fatsickandnearlydead.com/

P.S. my current weight is about 245. Will check my weight every 7 days - so next weight in will be in another 5 to get on track with it.

To me, it seems that you are somewhat off topic for this thread because first you assert that you are aspiring to juice, but you are instead buying juices rather than juicing, and second you are linking to an outside website before we even providing information for us to get to know you or to know your ideas. Third, you seem to be aspiring towards entering into a specific weight loss program and progress measurement regime, and maybe there is a better location for those kinds of specifics or even its own thread (in which, ideally, you would describe more thoroughly your plans and goals and your methodology - without overly relying upon outside links)?

I'm just one person, but those are my impressions from two of your five first RVF posts.

Actually I was just speaking with someone at my gym about "Fat Sick and Nearly Dead". Apparently it's a documentary that is making juicing go mainstream.

If only you knew how bad things really are.

As I am sure many of us are aware, our good friend MikeCF of Danger & Play has released his juicing e-books.

I purchased the e-book trilogy which is only $14.99. You get 3 books and IMHO it is a great deal for the information Mike supplies in his books. I am all about supporting our own here in the manosphere and Mike does not let down.

The three books you get are: Juice Power, Juicing for Men, and Juicing for Athletes.

Juice Power (179 pages)
This is the main book that is loaded with all kinds of information. Here he gives his Introduction to juicing, some info on Juicing for Beginners, the Benefits of Juicing, Reviews of the various blenders and mixers, tons of juicing recipes, and tips for juicers. All of his information is extremely in-depth (such as ounces of juice output per ounces of kale for each blender/juicer). IMHO, this book alone is worth the $14.99.

Juicing for Men (25 pages)
In this e-book, Mike puts together a list of recipes that are specifically geared towards either raising your testosterone or enhancing your libido. Also, he reviews several supplements and goes over the health benefits of each and then offers up a super juicing recipe he calls 'Virility God.' Mike backs up all of his claims throughout his e-books with links to studies.

Juicing for Athletes (20 pages)
In this e-book, Mike puts together a list of recipes specifically towards enhancing workout performance and losing weight. Once again, the scientific claims Mike makes are backed by linked/quoted studies.

Mike has put tons of effort into his books and we all know he put in the research. Heck, it started here on this thread. $14.99 is not a bad deal at all. In fact, I think it is a great deal. Considering that Bold & Determined's 30 Days of Discipline was I think around $10 for an e-book that was less than 30 pages, Mike's juicing trilogy is a spectacular deal that has A LOT of information.

I can vouch for the fat loss possibilities of juicing. I'm overweight (though I've dropped 50 pounds in the last year) and I've lost another 10 in my first week of juicing. Green juices have been invaluable to me for reducing my calorie intake per day without feeling like I'm starving. Considering the information Mike put in his books about the calorie content of various juices, I have been regularly consuming less than 1500 calories per day for the last week. Before I needed to consume about 2500 calories per day to feel normal while maintaining an exercise routine.

You know what I think is funny about the people who say juice has too much sugar and imply it'll wreak havoc on you?

Jack Lalanne juiced for decades. He wasn't a diabetic and didn't seem to suffer any ill effects from it.

Although I'm only 28 I want to preserve my health for as long as possible and I'll try anything, within reason, to do that. I've been juicing two days now. So far I'm liking it.

My fav recipe so far:

2 clementine oranges
2 carrots
4 sticks of celery
2 tomatoes

I thought about adding an apple but I didn't.

Looks like I need to get some kale and beets.

Beets
Carrots
Celery
Oranges
Lemons
Apples
Cucumber
Spinach

Made me around 60 oz of juice. I've learned to use the appropriate ratios so the juice tastes good.

I feel like I can run through walls after a full glass..

I agree on the beets. Collard greens are a good alternative to kale if you're cheap, don't like kale, or like collard greens.

Juicing greens like argula, butter lettuce, collard greens, and spinach along with almond milk, half a banana, and a dollop of yogurt has done wonders for me in the past 2 months.

I dropped 25 lbs, and my morning erections are as strong as they've ever been. I feel 18 again some of those days, as long as I get enough sleep.

I have owned this and the motor blew out several times.

They have a 1 year warranty, and within that period I think I blew out 4 of them. I ended up buying a different type, the Breville Juice Fountain, which has lasted more than a year with no problems.

Mike's eBook trilogy is great! Got it last month and there's tons of info there. Much if it is on his juice blog but it's great to support him and get all of the juice info in one place.

Around the time fit-juice.com came out, my mom gave me an Omega VRT330 juicer. One of my favorite gifts ever.

My go to juice:
1 pomegrante
1 medium beet
1 or 2 medium carrots
1/2 bunch dinosaur kale
1 1-inch nub ginger(optional)
1 lemon or lime (optional)

I don't like the pulp so I strain it.

Best thing someone can do is to experiment and try some different combinations, to see what they like. usually juice 2-3x a week.

The one thing that freaks about beet juice is it turns my urine and poo red lol. The first time I had beet juice a couple years ago it freaked me out because I thought I was internally bleeding. [Image: lol.gif]

First I was a little doubtful ( with no reason) to juicing.
Then I decided to try and bought a juicer.
Now I'm craving two pints a day.
Loving it!

Apples,carrots,beets,lemons,grapefruit,oranges,pomegrandes, tomatoes for my juice.

Got myself a badass blender also.
With that I'm making smoothies of frozen blueberries, lingonberries, raspberries, strawberries, bananas, black currants and everything else I can find in the freezer.

This is definitely giving me a boost!

Headsup to MikeCF. Without this thread I had probably never gotten in to it.
(And yes. I also bought your books)

So I cut fruits out of my juice since they were making it too sweet. Carrots sweeten it up enough.

Does anyone here eat the pulp? I had a couple spoonfuls of it today and it was pretty good.

Hahaha. I had exactly the same and I am sure we're not alone. When I start with new things I get excited and go overboard and three days into juicing for the first time (about 3 years ago) I woke up and went to the bathroom and fucking hell I am pissing blood!

Thought my lifestyle had finally caught up with me and my kidney was retiring. It took me a second to realize I wasn't about to die.

No way, it's dry and dirty. If it's still wet enough to eat, you should consider buying another machine. I did hear you can use it in some meals but that's beyond my kitchen skills.
