My fellow Angelinos, what do you guys think of this list?

All the spots are pretty divey for the most part. I once went to a birthday party at East Side Luv. It was the first bar I've ever seen in this cockfest of a town that had more women than men. You have to like Latinas of course.

Only stepped into Angels and Kings for a few minutes one night while bar hopping, but I can totally see that place being prime-time for a quick hookup. Will definitely visit again soon.

I've been to the Golden Golpher a couple times and it was dead, maybe I just chose the wrong night, but looked like a cool spot.

I also think Dillon's pub in Hollywood would be a contender. It's got a good combination of being a large bar with a lot of traffic and cheap drinks. Also pretty balanced crowd as far as ethnicity, there's everything there. It can be a cockfest some nights though, but comes with the territory.

First of all, written by a female who typically is the one doing the choosing of who she gets to fuck in any given night at any bar--the ease of hookup is turned to her favor so I don't trust it. Second, LA as you know is spread out so there's a TON more places beyond that list that could possibly be in your favor to get laid. Lastly, it's her and her friends' subjective experiences and tastes of what makes a good hook up bar. YMMV.

I can only speak about Backstage Bar and Grill, it's a divey place. The lighting is decent (not dark enough for me) and they have fireplaces near the larger seats on the walls. Vibe was overall chill but not romantic or sexy. It's a place you take your friends to.

I went here dolo Jan 1 based on a Roosh blog post, on the lookout for girls described on the blog. Nada. It's mixed groups of people hanging out and a sausage fest. Many were playing a trivia game of some sort. I posted up at the bar near the end, got a beer, chatted up with some cool dudes who bought me beers, and chilled as this was my after dinner drink.

The hottest girl in the place at that time was a tall blonde server, next hottest girl was one of the girl bartenders--a cute, hipster-type blonde. I tried to chat both of them up. Server and I had small exchanges, she was too busy with back and forth action from the tables to her cash machine. Bartender and I had some good chat going but due to the nature of her work, her attention's constantly occupied with orders and other guys hitting on her.

Out of the bars on the list, these bars have potential based on the limited info given to me:

Angels & Kings-based on the pictures of the interior and the events they have planned.

and

The Short Stop -based on the article's description you might be able to get dance game going here, transition to bar, the pool area, or her place. How many guys do you see dance in a bar in LA?

I haven't been to any of these places, but in my experience, 90% of the time, the 'meat markets' can be some of the worst places to try and get laid, unless maybe you're the tallest best looking guy in the club. This is like where Money Magazine said Hermosa Beach was the best city in the nation for singles, based on computing a bunch of mostly irrelevant stats.

Do you guys have any interest in an LA-only newsletter/listserv or something? I'm feeling a little cagey about posting stuff on the forum publicly about where I hang, but I don't mind sharing with other forum members.

Out of those 10, I've been to Eastside luv. Eastside Luv is cheaper than lots of other venues in LA, and the chicks are decent. I'd like to visit Angel & Kings once I come back to LA.

Anyone been to an all you can drink night at any bar? Curious what it'd look like - sausagefest? male competition neutralized or emboldened by all the booze? Chicks get suitably sloppy, or too plastered?

I've gone on private wine tours, which are obviously different, but I found the copious booze made it muuuch easier to hook up.

Oh that all you can drink deal was for Angels & Kings - http://angelsandkings.com/la/# . I've sort of given up on Latinas in LA. Saying 'I like Latinas' here amounts to 'I like fat girls,' 90% of the time. It's easier to just give up on them entirely and then be pleasantly surprised every time you spot a cute one. 'Course, this place Eastside Luv sounds like it's got a fair amount of talent.

Looking at my post above (which I didn't think would be posted when my internet got cut off) it made me think that a bar with high turnover rate of females coming in and out of it will somewhat increase your chances of getting laid due to numbers game. This means a bar that is walking distance to other nightlife establishments: bars, theatres, restaurants, etc.

Backstage Bar was indeed near such establishments in downtown Culver City, but it’s a 15 minute or so walk and isolated from the rest.

Fellas, I am an L.A. native and these bars mentioned are straight trash...Which is OK if your into trashy dirty women that youd be embarrased to be seen with..Not my cup of tea but I would say here are my top 10 bars to get laid in L.A:

1. Busby's Santa Monica or Busby's East (collegey crowd @ both. If your looking for UCLA women peep Santa Monica for SC peep Busbys east)
2. Q's Billiards in Brentwood
3. The Association/The Varnish (Downtown LA, everyone that went to the Gopher and Broadway are now going here)
4. South (nice happy hour/weekend crowd here, co-eds mixed with the corporate crowd border of Brentwood and Santa Monica)
5. The Nine O (Right by USC, if your looking for SC women coming from wealthy families this is your spot! Weds and Thursdays are best here)
6. Barney's Beanery (Old Town Pasadena)
7. Bodega Wine Bar (Pasadena, Hollywood, and Santa Monica. For your well off, well kept, sophisticated women peep these joints)
8. Rene's (Santa Monica - Young post college/college crowd here)
9. Circle Bar (Santa Monica - Roll on the weekdays and the ratio is yours to take advantage of, also the only place i've run into with ALOT of brazilians which is rare in L.A.

I've swooped/pulled/banged or whatever yall call it at each of these venues. The women are usually more friendly and open as opposed to the venues I listed on my LA datasheet mainly due to the scenes. The fact Golden Gopher and 4100 is on this list - just shows this is the worst fucking list ever.

golden gopher and 4100 are hipster hangouts, where ugly chicks go, who are fat and weird....I don't know of any attractive person that goes here.....

The list is written by a hipster dude.....worst list ever....

RC fresh list is alot more accurate of the LA night life, if you want to get laid.

What are the thoughts on the best areas considering the logistics in LA, in particular where you can go out and get by without driving. One of the big strengths of LA is the size and diversity of places but that can make for crap logistic issues.

RC definitely knows LA and the westside specifically in terms of where to pick them off. All the spots he mentioned are PRIME to get laid and often with pretty decent talent as well. I definitely won't hit the Circle Bar and a couple others anymore but nevertheless they are good for the topic at hand. I'm gonna throw The Penthouse at the Huntley Hotel into the mix too. Pulling chicks out of there on a Friday or Saturday night is the norm in there for me. Also, its classier so you can gear up more for it. Bodega is also PRIME for a more upscale environment with an unusually solid ratio consistently.

I know the girl very well who wrote the "25 Douchiest bars in LA" and she is Santa Monica biased as she grew up there and hitting the same venues growing up leaves a distaste for them later. The reason they are probably douchey to her is also because she has been swooped in the past from them and is now married and considers herself too cool and grown up for them.
