I would hit Nikkis first which is one street over from Townhouse and they shut down at 1 and everyone goes to Townhouse then. Also James Beach. Those are the big three of the beach area right there.

Abbot Kinney area hit the Brig on a Tuesday night (or any night Thurs-Sun) when they have a live funk band there. Gets packed, chicks, and good music. The Other Room is down the street from The Brig and is beer and wine only but always has girls there Thurs-Sun. Even early week all these places should have some action.

Sunday daytime definitely hit the Whaler. The place gets packed, kind of scuzzy but always chicks there who get wasted and put out. Waking up with my head pounding next to some chick is the norm on Monday mornings after doing the Whaler on a sunny Sunday afternoon.

Yeah man, that's exactly what it is. The ratio is never great there but there are so many clowns in there that I just about always manage to pull something out of there. It progressively gets livlier as the day pushes towards sundown and the drink count has risen but I usually get there anytime between 1-4PM and then just ride it out and see what happens. Every time I walk in, at first I am like why am I here but I always end up having fun if nothing else. Its so crowded that its almost impossible to not get face to face naturally with a bunch of chicks while just hanging out. You don't even really need to 'approach' in there, in just happens.

I'll be in Europe a couple more weeks but shoot me a PM or email one time when you want to go and I'm game.

What are the best hotel pool parties this summer? Especially places without a bunch of doorman drama. The Viceroy on Sunday used to be off the hook but I don't think they're doing it anymore. Went to the the Marriott rooftop lounge across from Staples a few Sundays ago. The dj was great but the turnout was a disappointment.

No doubt. Yeah, its something you have to be in mood for but fun nevertheless.

One of my friends is promoting Mr. C in Beverly Hills which is a boutique hotel but based on his other events I'm guessing it is good. I haven't been or know the scene as I am not in the states right now.

What was the scene like at the Marriott? I was hoping that it would be a good scene this summer.

New list of best new bars in town. Been hearing a lot of hype about SBE's Sayer's Club. Anyone been? Not sure I wanna pay $18 a drink though.

Beer Belly in Koreatown was cool when I went. Lot of couples though and kind of on the small side, but good atmosphere. Villian's Tavern is surreal.

They got this thing going called Soul Sessions every other weekend on the rooftop. The DJ spinning was Anthony Valadez from KCRW. Spinning a mix of soul, funk, rare-groove. They also had a live band. They really good, playing a mix of jazzy funk, fusion, soul. There weren't that many people there. I rolled solo, and it was people there mainly as couples or seated with their circle of friends but no open mingling. I just grabbed a beer and talked with the band members. No doubt. The Afternoon Delight events that I have hit are generally cock fests though for whatever reason. Haven't been to the events at the Standard of theirs so maybe worth a look to see if the venue change brings a different crowd.

Come on, Golden Gopher and 4100 are not that bad. At least the ratio is reasonable.

Golden Gopher - everyone is having a good time. No bitch shields. Girls are fairly drunk.

4100 - Definitely hipsters, but I prefer stylish hipster girl to janky hollywood trash. Too loud to talk, but generally ok ratio.

The Huntly - Me and my wing pulled 2 Finnish girl out of there. The place is alright. Anyone know anything like that near downtown? I live too far from Santa Monica.

Bodega - Not bad, but not enough targets to work on. More of a day2 place.

Daytime pool party in LA sucks. Save your money for Vegas. Any hot girl would have gotten invited to a hollywood hill pool party. I went to Drai's at W. There were some hotties, but really not worth it. The Standard sunday pool party is lame too. If you like the DJ, then go. There's some hotel in Santa Monica, maybe is Shangerila. Again, pretty weak. Or maybe the same girl that looks hot at night just don't hold up during the broad day light.

Mr C seems pretty upscale. Had dinner there once and saw some very hot girls. It's probably not infiltrated by Hollywood douche yet.

I just doublechecked, it opens on August 3rd. it is managed by douchy Brent Bolthouse, but considering it is in Santa Monica, I'm curious to see what crowd it will attract. I'm hoping for young tourists. Fingers crossed. If anyone is down to check it out drop me a pm.

On my hit list of "new" places to check out I have:

- Pour Vous.

- The Writer's Room.

Anyone has been there?

Regarding the pool scene:

- The Standard Hollywood sucks. Not sure about the scene at the one downtown. At nightime I always find it mediocre, but is a large venue, so can be a hit or miss.

- SLS Hotel pool scene is good but exclusive.

- Likewise is The Roosevelt.
The doorman is a douche and is a tad tricky to get it. In case you go I recommend going there on Sunday daytime, rather than Saturday evening. It is more target rich. Obviously you have to deal with the obnoxiously loud blasting music.

- On a side note: The London Hotel (Weho, off Sunset) runs some weekly wednesday evening summer events, 6-10pm. They serve free booze from 6-7pm. Its is an upscale, very nice hotel 2 min walk from the Viper Room. Worth taking a look. Just call the hotel to get the promoter's e-mail so they put you on the guest list. Great view from the top. Target quality: average. Worth a stop to get a free drink before heading to other places on the strip like Sky Bar or Eveleigh.


p.s. as always, if you have a buddy with a membership to get in, I recommend going to Soho House. IMHO the place with the highest concentration of chica calientes in whole LA.

p.p.s. I strongly recommend going down to San Diego. Getting into the most popular clubs, currently FLUXX and maybe still Stingaree, is quite easy when compared to places in LA like Sayer's Club, GreyStone Manor or Drais. I always have recurring positive experiences everytime I go south. In SD's clubs, most importantly, girls tend to be much younger than in LA (30+ years old are rare in SD) and extremely friendly when compared to typical LA chicks. Personally, I prefere the SD club scene to the Vegas's one.

Sunny Spot (old Beechwood)

The Other Room (don't go if there's a long line though)..go earlier.

31 ten in Santa Monica on main street (they had a fire code violation so its a lot less crowded now)



That's usually where I go. First Friday is this Friday, but in the summer its way too much of a madhouse. Great place to game in the galleries (at least it used to be unless its too crowded). The Indian bookstore is a good spot too.

I'm thinking its going to attract the Viceroy/Huntley hotel crowd. That's at the Fairmont Miramar right, basically they split off the restaurant Fig there I believe. I went to Fig on a weekday a few weeks back and there was an upscaleish crowd of people in the bar/lounge area.

Guess I didn't mention it, but I went to Eastside Luv with a forum member, and it wasn't anything special. A couple cute Latin girls, but the logistics/social circles were not favorable, and the absolute percent of people there that are bangable girls was low. Doesn't seem like a place Latin girls in search of dick, esp. non-latin dick, would go. Plus there's little else immediately nearby.

Relatively few fat girls. The music isn't too loud, people seem relaxed though a bit cliquish at times, the ratios were even. Solid spot for day drinking, across the street from the beach. Mix of people seated at tables and standing. No cover. Was a line when I got there before 11 pm.

Haven't been to the Huntley or Viceroy yet so I don't know how it compares. If Bungalow can maintain its pretty & hip crowd, it will be a solid spot.

Just got back from Standard Hollywood Sunday party. Fuckin weak. Been going to the Standard downtown too lately.

Here's how I feel about Sunday daytime parties: It's like going out Friday or Saturday night. Pretty much a cockfest, and girls have more attitude than usual.

I've been meaning to check out wednesdays at the london.

Eveleigh is my go to for pulling these days, just because I can walk there, there's no cover, drinks are good, logistics are good, and hot girls go there.

Every bar on that original list is complete horseshit btw. Unless I was going for some fat tattooed wannabe rock n roller or hipster chick.

Sundays and Thursdays seem to be the best days for pulling. By that I mean Sunday and Thursday EVENINGS.

Just got back from Angels and Kings bar in Hollywood last night.
This is a reminder that chicks are not to be trusted with "places to get laid" articles.

Vibe:
If you're into rock and metal, this scene is for you. Lots of rock and metal people and this music plays inside.
One bar, a deer's head with AK-47's attached to its antlers hovers above.
Very dark ambience, couches with candle-lit tables, best spot to make out and fool around is the last booth/couch near the wall facing the bathrooms.

Ratios/Quality Girls (looks-wise):
I came here on a Tuesday night after 10 pm suited up, sausage-fest. As the night went on, the female numbers increase a bit but they're with a group of orbiters or with boyfriends. Still a sausage-fest. It might be different on the weekend. Many of the girls wear sexy goth-like or rock-inspired clothing, but many are average-looking (and I'm being generous with this rating).

Hottest girl was a Swedish girl traveler (8/10 my rating), I'm one of the few chatting her up at that time
Many of the dudes here are wall-flower orbiters. Long story short, tried to escalate on the couch mentioned above but no go.
We exchanged numbers, depending on what happens I might join her in Vegas this weekend.

Verdict: I'd try again on a weekend to see if it has better ratios. I'd take a rock/metal girl here and try for that couch again.

RC definitely knows LA and the westside specifically in terms of where to pick them off. All the spots he mentioned are PRIME to get laid and often with pretty decent talent as well. I definitely won't hit the Circle Bar and a couple others anymore but nevertheless they are good for the topic at hand. I'm gonna throw The Penthouse at the Huntley Hotel into the mix too. Pulling chicks out of there on a Friday or Saturday night is the norm in there for me. Also, its classier so you can gear up more for it. Bodega is also PRIME for a more upscale environment with an unusually solid ratio consistently.

I've only been to Q's, Circle and Busby's, and only Q's on a weekend night. Not my place to pickup, douchey stupid loud crowd. But it might work for others.

I know the girl very well who wrote the "25 Douchiest bars in LA" and she is Santa Monica biased as she grew up there and hitting the same venues growing up leaves a distaste for them later. The reason they are probably douchey to her is also because she has been swooped in the past from them and is now married and considers herself too cool and grown up for them.

QWEST- THANKS! The HUNTLEY IS MONEY was there last Friday to revisit and trying to squeeze out whatever I can same night style...Another joint to peep out eastward is the Thompson Hotel in Beverly Hills...Did fairly OK there...Just be warned of the demographic..A little more pretentious than the Santa Monica crowd...haha ;-)

I'm probably going to check out the Bungalow tomorrow. My friends said to get there early like 830. prob not going to stay there all night, just see how it is, might end up at 31-ten, i've had good times there. i'm curious about the circle bar and their brazillians. every time i go there its either uber packed or empty.

I've also seen on yelp "El Baron" in Culver City, there seems to be a lot of South American type places there...its on my "to do" list.

was at bungalow today, yeah...get there before 830 for sure. I got there around 8 and stayed about an hour and half. pretty chill crowd but a little uppity some times.....lots of cougars I'm 35 and I felt young there.

also checked out El Baron, everyone in there were coupled up...interesting vibe, but not a good bar to go pick up. maybe it is other nights, i'll give it another shot on a saturday.
