What are ur opinions on Caps? Do or dont? Obviously, it depends on the venue, but whats your general take on caps like this:

I'll rock a newsboy cap now and again, I'm getting a little more hip to baseball hats too.

Its funny cause I Remember HATING, LIKE GALLONS OF HATERADE HATING on guys who would go to the bar wearing a baseball cap. These guys also always seemed to have women around them. Connection? Maybe. I Think wearing a baseball hat out gives a "dont give a fuck" attitude.

I was thinking the same. Another thing I like about caps is that you can "play" with em. E.g. on the dancefloor, you can playfully put em on the head of the girl you are grinding on. If she doesnt mind your hat on her head and maybe even likes it, its an indicator that youll get some.

Nothing says, "High school hero, life zero" more than a guy in his 20s wearing a baseball cap.

In general, legible clothing is a social class marker in the United States. Clothing that has words on it and sports uniforms worn as daily wear are self-identifying yourself as lower class.

Buy a fedora, porkpie, or any other adult style of men's hat. Leave the baseball cap for kids and guys named Cooter.

"Alpha children wear grey. They work much harder than we do, because they're so frightfully clever. I'm awfully glad I'm a Beta, because I don't work so hard. And then we are much better than the Gammas and Deltas. Gammas are stupid. They all wear green, and Delta children wear khaki. Oh no, I don't want to play with Delta children. And Epsilons are still worse. They're too stupid to be able to read or write. Besides they wear black, which is such a beastly color. I'm so glad I'm a Beta."

I sometimes wear hats, but have a strict policy on when to wear them. I have a BAPE hat to go with my BAPE sweatshirts and shoes. I also have a D&G cap that's half leather half canvas. I wear this one with summer time clothes. For the most part though I just wear both as accessories.

I understand your point about the social class marker, but I don't get into that. I wear a LOT caps during the summer or in Caribbean areas (mostly representing colleges/universities) because I need a cap to match the color the rest of my outfit.

Besides...I like being in London or France and someone asks me about Michigan State....or Univ of Wisconsin :-)

I don't worry about a "social class marker" because my platinum AMEX swipes the same way at the airports, hotels, the airline lounges at the airports and everywhere else.

Yea I agree. I don't think you can make it into something black and white. Like almost everything in life, it depends on the situation and the person.

I rock a backwards Colorado Rockies flatbill cap quite a bit, including at college and dive bars. The way I wear it is different from the way most guys seem to wear it.. My hair is shaggy so I have the bill kind of pointing down instead of straight back, and my hair sticks out a little in the front and on the sides. I have somewhat of a baby face, which girls seem to like, and it sort of brings attention to it. Recently, this girl I was talking to at the bar told me that she really liked how I looked with my hat.

I think it really depends on the kind of person you are. I'm a huge sports fan so it fits me. I also know plenty of dudes who don't look good in baseball caps.

And nothing says "I wish I could be like Johnny Depp, but really I just look like a fag." like rocking a fedora. It's all personal preference, and depends on the venue. Here in California, sporting a fresh New Era hat is no problem, if you rock it with style.

Blackhawk was out of line with that post. Lol at baseball hats showing lower class. Gotta be kidding me. I've pulled many girls while wearing an Astros fitted.

I rock baseball caps pretty regularly during the warmer months. Lower class or not, I'm pretty happy with the quality of bitches I pull at the moment.

I'd love to know what Blackhawk thinks of MiXX's cap.

Agree completely. A fedora or a porkpie hat looks good if you've got the style to match it, I could see being suited and booted and wearing a fedora like Sinatra working. If you're just wearing jeans and an average shirt you're gonna look like a middle aged "just got divorced" weekend warrior.

That being said, this is why I like the newsboy cap. Its kind of in a grey area between the "proper mens hat" and the baseball cap.

As usual, I think folks tend to read too much into the simplest of things. I wear hats and caps for functional reasons - to keep rain, snow, cold or sun off of my head. I have pageboy hats, a fedora (John Varvatos) and TONS of ball caps. I don't like snap-back adjustables - only fitted. I have several New Eras (mostly NY Mets in different color combos, with different patches on the sides), and quite a few slouch fitted hats. If I'm running to the store and don't want to comb my hair, I'll throw on a cap also.

I usually wear a cap. Unless dressed up of course.

Been thinking about getting one of these for the hell of it. [Image: banana.gif]

I wear a ball cap or a skull cap pretty regularly at the dive bars I frequent. I've used them as props, and gotten compliments on some of the skull caps, plus I really "don't give a fuck", so I'll keep wearing them.

Ha ha ha, that's awesome. I would consider getting a hat like Leatherhead's though.

I wear caps sometimes. Hate snapbacks. Hats are accessories imo, not subtle clues of the wearer's social strata. My favorite shirt has cupcakes and hello kitty on it. Some ppl laugh but I'm perfectly fucking satisfied with it. And that's all that matters.
