I'm not saying I use it personally, just that it has some health benefits that the government and media propaganda are completely wrong in demonizing it. Plus, everything in moderation, right? Even opium and heroin have health benefits in moderation. Plus our own favorite, alcohol.

I don't believe in the 'Everything in moderation' bullshit. If something is shit than it's better to avoid it if it's possible.

Ahh Grasshopper, you need to open your mind to the possibilities... Remember, you've been lied to all of your life, by everyone who should matter including your parents. Why should this instance be any different? Don't make me smack you down with the historical reasons (and printed references) that the reason these natural substances were banned was all in the name of power and money.

Even the American Cancer Society is coming around concerning the medical efficacy of cannabis.

So would you say that cannabis does not fuck people up at all mentally?

Hell mofo, who would you say is more fucked mentally, the successful guy that occasionally takes a hit for his health or to relieve stress or the fat girl who eats an entire quart of Haagen Daaz ice cream every night? Anything can mentally fuck you up if used wrongly even your own lifestyle. I'm just trying to get you to open up your mind a little bit. Don't believe me for one minute, I wouldn't, but if I can get you to find your own answers, then I've accomplished something. Just don't believe anything you've been told until you find the proof for yourself. Or, until you try it for yourself.

I'm really curious about what you base your knowledge of cannabis on. When taken in moderation, it is completely harmless. When heavily abused by people with addictive tendencies, it can, over the long term, increase the risk of both depression and schizophrenia moderately, but it remains unclear whether the cannabis itself caused the increase or if people with an underlying genetic disposition for mental illness are disproportionately more likely to heavily abuse cannabis.
I have smoked with scientists and poets, surgeons and cyclists, and a slew of lovely lizards. It all comes down to whether you use cannabis in a responsible manner, while also trying new things and meeting new people, or if you sit at home on the couch smoking and watching The Wizard of Oz while listening to Dark Side of the Moon on the original LP to see if it really does match up.

I based it on the words of an addiction expert who said it fucks you up. He's had worked with druggies for years and he is an ex druggie. I trust that man.

The author of AntiCancer recommends daily turmeric, green tea and ginger to keep cancer in check / hinder it developing. I don't really like the taste of turmeric. How do you eat it everyday or with what? What do you put it in? Do you take a tablet?

Yes it's an acquired taste. You need to take it with oil for absorption, and black pepper enhances that further. So I use olive oil + black pepper

Best way I've found is:

1/2 teaspoon in a small cup, a sprinkling of black pepper, just enough olive oil to cover it Stir it all together, then just glug it from the cup and follow with water.

I've got used to it now, like eating tablespoons of coconut oil, dont need the water for either. Amazing what disgusting things you can adapt to and actually find pleasant after a while [Image: smile.gif]

Fish oil has Omega-3 fatty acids (plus decahexanoic and epihexanioc) that work on so many of your bodily systems that I can't list them all here. They are extremely important for brain function, cardiovascular health and immune system boosting. I take 5000 mg a day of a good quality fish oil. The ones I take come in 1000 mg soft gels and you want to look for one that has at least half of its ingredients in Omega-3 and DHA/EPA acids. And if you're not eating fish everyday, you aren't getting nearly enough of those nutrients. Why do you think the Japanese live so long?

Do you have a recommendation for a highly absorb-able multivitamin?

Just eat a balanced diet. Your piss turns nuclear yellow because the majority of the vitamins being pissed out right? I used to be big on Vitamins but I've scaled back to only some essential minerals or vitamins that are hard to get from food.

I've realized these pill makers don't give a fuck if you know how to take them properly or not. Many nutrients need to be synthesized certain ways, with carbs... without, empty stomach, fats, full stomach.. etc. etc.

There is also that rumor that says that the body treats most synthetic vitamins as toxins and immediately blocks them out, thus why we get the nuclear radioactive yellow piss after taking them.

Weed has been around for thousands of years. Hemp and the Cannabis are great for overall human health. Why can researchers do studies on how lame, uncreative, and boring our generation has become since laying of the herb.

Weed is perfectly fine. There are known no deaths linked to weed. While Pharma-chemicals kill hundreds of thousands yearly.

Athlone, what brand of Melatonin do you take? Do you just go and buy the Walgreen's brand or is there one in specific that you go for? Can you vouch that it helps you sleep soundly at night? Do you find it hard to wake up in the morning after popping a tab?

What time do you generally go to sleep and what time do you wake up? How much hours per day on average do you sleep?

The brand I usually buy is called "Nature's Bounty". I think its fairly generic-its what I see in CVS, so its what I get.

It puts me to sleep pretty effectively. I usually wake up at 8 or 9AM, and usually am able (read: just drowsy enough) to go to sleep at around 12-1AM (though I sometimes keep myself up later with distractions online and studying-that's just me being stubborn and internet-addicted, not the melatonin failing to work).
I usually take about 6mg at a time (two 3mg tablets), or 5mg if I can find that dosage in the store. I don't take it on weekends, and usually am unable to fall asleep until 2-3AM or so in those instances.

I usually don't have a problem getting up in the morning assuming I give myself at least 5 hours of sleep.
If I allow my insomnia to get the better of me and go any lower than 5 hours in a night, I'm much more likely to sleep through my alarm.

On Sunday nights (when I need to kick my sleep schedule back into gear after staying up late on weekends), I take the 6mg of melatonin along with a very small (I'm talking maybe 3ml here) amount of Nyquil. That usually knocks me out totally.
Nyquil shouldn't be used too often as a sleep aid, though, so that only happens once a week and I keep it to tiny doses. I can make one large bottle of Nyquil last for many months this way.

And no, I am not on the paleo diet. My diet at school is actually quite limited-I eat a little healthier at home.

I take:

Multi vitamins

MSM for my skin, hair, and joints

Protein smoothie which I usually try and include Acai pure (Pure is the most healthy form of Acai available in North America. Juices and powders aren't quit as nutricious and many have very little amounts of actual acai). My favorite to make so far is acai, strawberry, blueberry, bannana, and pure cran-rasberry juice with two scoops of protein.

Ganja, but in moderation. I usually smoke small amounts which keeps my tollerance low. The only time I smoke in excess is when I smoke with my stoner friends who only roll blunts. Even then a lot of times I'll hit it 2 or 3 times per rotation and only go through 2 or 3 rotations before I sit out. I don't like to smoke and go out either. I used to be a huge stoner and had to do virtually everything high. These days I'll take 1-2 month breaks from it every 6-12 months. I'll often go a couple days without smoking at all.

Pure Protein bars

I just try and eat all around healthy through out the day. I try and do 3 meals and snacks in between, though working two jobs that doesn't always happen.

On average these days I drink once or twice a week. Some weeks I don't drink, others I'll drink 3 or 4 times.

Before each meal - 15ml ACV and 500mg cod liver oil.

English breakfast tea (no milk or sugar) throughout the day, green tea after 6pm (may switch to white).

I take multivits if I'm in an environment where I can't eat healthily for whatever reason, otherwise I avoid multivits because I read somewhere that far exceeding you GDAs (as in a 100% GDA vitamin pill + lots of fruit and veggies every day) can actually be quite bad for you.

Unfortunately I don't have a link.
