Great post. Having lived both around Europe and in the US I'm amazed at how different attitudes to nudity are. During summer in Germany, for example, you see butt naked people on the beach, tanning in parks and bathing in lakes all over the place. And no one cares. In the US people would be shocked at this. Girls shower at the gym wearing their bikinis. The level of shame at their bodies is staggering.
